Remembrance Day

Today is Remembrance Day.
Today is a day of remembrance for the men and women,
and all the animals, who have served and continue to serve
our country during times of war, conflict and peace.

We are thankful  for all the rights and freedoms we enjoy today
because of our Veterans.

This is the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Ottawa.

After  the Remembrance ceremony, people leave their
poppies on the tomb.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
from the poem by Robert Laurence Binyon

The poem "In Flander's Fields" by John McCrae

We give thanks to all out Veterans!

What a nice post, kids. My mom remembers that when she was a kid, everybody wore poppies on 11/11; nowadays she can't remember the last time she saw one.
