Hi !! It's Georgia , coming to you from the porch.

Friday, we had snow!! We kitties were quite

snug and warm indoors, but there are lots

of critters that live outdoors.

I am going to let you see what we see

on Critter TV.

Mom puts out seeds and

Earl the Squirrel loves them!

He just eats,and eats, and eats!!!

Boy is he hungry!!

Sometimes he likes to bury the seeds.

When he goes off, some birdies come

along to sample the seeds! You can

see three Mourning Doves and a

little Junco.

The little Junco finally has a go

at the seed pile.

Up in a tree is a little Chickadee.

look in the lower centre to see

the birdie.

As you can see, we have lots of critters

to keep us entertained.

Too bad we cannot go outside to play

with them!!! Heehee.

Un-Solved Mystery Friday

Our friends at Zoolatry thought that today,

we should post about any unsolved

mysteries we had. I am posting about

something that happened a while ago.

I was just relaxing on this bookshelf,

when, suddenly I heard a scratching sound!!!

I got up and looked at the wall.

The noise was coming from inside!!

I could not smell anything!!

I know there is something in there!!

I have no idea what it was!

I asked Mom if maybe it could have

been a mouse.

She said yes!!!!!!!!!

She said the place is old and there are many

places a mouse could get in and run

around inside the walls!!

I just know it was a mouse!!

What else could be making a noise

inside the wall ?????

Here I am trying to relax and I see

Mom coming with that darn flashy box !!

I know, I'll just close my eyes!!!!!

Darn, she's still there.

Oh well I'll have a stretch.

Oh, it's just Treasure trying to get

away from Mom and the flashy box too!

We are just going to ignore Mom and relax.

It is, after all, what we do best!!

Thoughts on Friday the 13 !!

Oh hi !! Happy Friday the 13th!!

Guess what??
Yesterday we had a snowstorm1

The snow was blowing all around

because it was windy!!

Mom came home early because

she had a dentist appointment.

This what she saw not long after she got home.

She was glad to be home as she usually gets

home about 1 1/2 hours later.

Good think there was not much snow.

By 9 PM, there was more snow.

It was still windy!!

Mom says the temperature is going up

and that it will rain!!

So today,she needed an umbrella!

We did not mind the storm!!

We were snuggled together

and nice and warm!!!!!!!!

Mom's Birthday Presents

Hi friends. Tillie here.

As you know,Mom had a birthday last week.

She got some nice presents and wanted

to show you a couple of them.

She got this cat and some pretty pink tulips.

That cat is funny looking and does not smell

like a cat should! Oh well, Mom likes the cat.

The flowers look nice,

but Mom will not let us near them!

Really Mom, do you think

I might try to eat them???

YES!!!!!!!!!

This is where the new kitty will live.

He is next to the other new kitty.

I am not sure why she likes those

kitties when she has us.

I don't mind too much, because

she feeds us and gives us

scritches!! Those wooden kitties

don't get that!!! heehee

I am enjoying some time on the porch.

When we have sunshine, it gets warm on the

porch, Mom opens the door and lets us enjoy

the warm rays!There is a cloud passing by

right now, but the sun will be back.

Oh, I need to turn around. There!

Oh those sunbeams feel nice!

They make me warm and a little bit sleepy.

I think I will continue with my nap!

It just feels so comfy right here.

Mmmmmmmmmmm!!!

It came down lightly.

Squirrel TV was great.

Earl was busy burying seeds that Mom put out.

We hope Earl the Squirrel has a good memory.

Hi ! Treasure here today.

I just love to hang around on this carpeted shelf.

It's soft and up high so I can easily keep

an eye on things. Sound like fun?

I like to rub my cheeks on the carpet.

I sometimes look up at the ceiling,

you never know what could be up there!!

I can really keep an eye on the other kitties!!

There is always something to see outside!

There are birds and squirrels around and

they are pretty entertaining.

What Mom Saw

Christmas. I think you will agree that

humans sometimes do very

interesting things!!

These figures are in a vacant lot.

No construction is going on, but these

figures are occupying the space.

There are lots of them.

I think they may be trying to get out!!

I wonder what this figure thinks of her

view across the street? !!

As I said, humans do interesting things!!!

Christmas Gift

Hi!! JJ here. I hope you all had a wonderful

and fun Christmas and Holiday time!!!

We did!! Mom was at her sister's place

for Christmas, but she came back

and spent lots of time with us!!

She used up vacation days,

so she was off lots of days this month!!

We love it, but I like it the best!!

We bet they had a fun Christmas too!!

There were lots of beans around!!!

Mom's nephew,Tall Son,was there too.

Mom and her sister were out lots and lots.

Mom even went to her sister's place and

saw our furcousins. Here is Mindy.

They also had to finish a home improvement

project with paint...

so they could put up this tree!!

After all, Christmas is here this weekend!

Good thing they got that done.

Mom came back home and we

all had a fun Sunday.

So, that is why I am taking it easy on the porch.

HI friends. I'm spending some time relaxing and

checking on things around the place.

Mom was away a lot of the weekend

visiting with Grandbean.

Yesterday, Mom put up the outdoor lights

because it was sunny and pleasant.

I am going to show you some of the decorating

Mom and her sister did to get ready for the Tea

and Tour.

They made these peppermint patties

for the bake table and they all sold.

Here, the hall is ready for beans to come in

for the tea. The lady in green is Bonnie,

and she looks after the tickets and does a

lot of organizing.

The wall hangings belong to Mom and her sister.

Mom's sister made most of them too.

Here is an Angel watching over the

Three Wise Men. Mom made that wall hanging

Here are a bunch of Santas that are all handmade

Mom made the big Santa in the middle

as well as the plaid Santas sitting down .

The fundraiser was a big success and

everyone had fun!!!

We were glad when Mom came home,

because she gave us all scritches and treats!!

where she went this past weekend.

It is another weekend and once again,

Mom will be busy outside the home.

She is going to a family get together.

She says "better to do it now before the weather

gets too bad.

Also, one of her sisters will be spending

Christmas in Ottawa with her son's family.

They are expecting a new blurp Dec 28!!

As usual, we will be spending our time snoozing

and watching Bird and Squirrel TV.

Well friends, we hope all our American friends

had a great Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!

We had a big snowstorm Wednesday, and then it

got sunny and warmer.Mom is happy to see the sunshine

and says it will be sunny and warmer this weekend.

Why is she happy?? Because it is time for the annual

Tea and Tour that Mom and her sister like to attend.

They get together,make sweet treats, and help decorate

the church hall where the tea will be held. The best part

is visiting the homes all decorated for Christmas!!!!

While they are off doing that, we plan on enjoying

plenty of nice,cozy naps!!!!!

Hi friends!!

Once again we had a nice weekend!

It was pretty warm and we enjoyed some sunshine.

While I did enjoy getting some sun on my furs,

I would have preferred Mom to be around more!!

She was st her sister's house again doing

something called"getting ready for Christmas"

They are working together on a project for

their family. They are happy to get this done

and know that this present will be done

early!!

Now Mom says there is something

going on next weekend too!

Good thing I have cozy places around here!!

With Mom running around and being away

sometimes, I just curl up and have a nice nap.

It's even nicer when you have a nap with

company!!!! Zzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Georgia's Polydactyl Toes

As many of you know, I have extra

toes. That means I am a polydactyl cat.

This is my front paw.

I have "mittens" or an Opposable "thumb"

This is another view. Here, my paw is upside

down (because I am relaxing on the porch)

This is my back paw.

Can you see my 6 pads?

Tillie is my sister and we are from the same litter,

however she does not have extra toes.

The extra toes do not bother me,

and Mom thinks they are cute.

To me, they are just more toes

I need to clean,heehee

What a weekend we had!!!

Friday it rained and rained and rained!!

We had more rain than the last big rain.

Last time we had 104mm and this time we had

108mm. That's about 4 inches!!!!!!

See the puddles it left in the driveway

and garden?

This puddle is in the front yard!

When the rain stopped, Mom took

pictures of the river by our house.

It was moving very fast and Mom

said the levels were really high!!!

This river is moving toward Lake Echo.

The water is pretty high and close

to our neighbour's grass!!!

Good thing it stopped raining.

The puddles in our yard are gone now.

I am glad I am not near that water!!!

I think my box is safer and

way more comfy, heehee

Hi friends. It was a quiet weekend here as Mom

went away to visit Grammie.

We all missed her, but we had great sitters .

When Mom got home, she showed us what she saw!

Here are some hollies with lots of red berries.

Birds like these berries.

This is a small vineyard that Mom's

brother planted this past May.Mom helped

with the planting.The grape vines did well too'

The grapes(Chardonnay) will be ready to

harvest in 3 more years.

I am really happy that Mom is back home.

I had to listen to Tillie squeal about winning

a contest held at Halloween Spooktacular

It was pretty funny to see her running

around trying to get that costume off!!!

She won for "Most Resistance to

Wearing a Costume" hahahahaha

shoot. When she suggested I be a Mummy,

I agreed. After all, I do like to be

The river goes under the road/bridge that Mom

What a great weekend we had!!

Hi friends, Georgia here.

Can you see the sunshine on the floor of the porch?

We had a wonderful sunny,warm weekend !!

It was SO nice to lay in those warm sunbeams!!

Mom had some fun too.

She went with her sister to this event.

It was not in sunbeams,but in moonbeams!!!

Yup!!! They went in the dark!!!!!!!

They walked around for hours!!!

Beans are strange, heehee

There was lots of interesting things to see

Mom told me Lots of people too.

This was a plastic tent and people could

draw on it and it was lit with a special

light.

Look at it glow!!!!

This light flower was made with velum and fabric.

This display was pretty cool.

You could go inside.

There was a bathroom in there!!!

It did not work but had a sink,toilet and shower.

It made Mom and her sister laugh lots !!!!

Like I said, beans are strange.

Hi!! Georgia here.

Way back in the Summer, there was an open

house at out Vet Hospital.

They had fun things

to do and as well as draws for prizes.

Well, Mom won one of the prizes,

and we are just getting around to showing it to you.

Mom won a block of note paper .

and a cute toy. I purrsonally think

Mom is a bit old for toys!!

It looks like a little Vet doll

The arms and legs move.

You can even remove her head!!!!!

When you do this, Mom says that

it turns into a flash drive. Mom likes it

and thinks it will be useful.

It's a good thing Mom likes different toys than I do !!

This way, we do not fight over them!!!

That means we are thankful for having

I am relaxing in this great box!!

Just my size too.

We did not get to visit our friends this weekend.

Mom was busy with family matters.

One of her brothers in law's Mom

passed away.

Mercedes was a joyful,beautiful,vibrant lady.

Everyone that met her,loved her.

We did not go to say goodbye,

but we did send lots of purrs.

We love you and will miss you.

Someday, we will meet again.

Tillie was looking for Mom this weekend too.

Hi Friends,Tillie here.

We are a bit miffed at Mom.

Once again,she is not helping us

visiting all of our friends,only a few.

WE know Mom is busy during the week,

but she is still out and about on weekends

and not taking as many pics of us!!

We will try to set her straight this weekend,

maybe,heehee

So!! Instead of "close up Friday",

we will give you a group photo.

Trust me, group photos are pretty rare around here!!!

9-11 Ten Years Later- We Remember

Today is the 10th anniversary of a very sad event.

Today we remember the terrorist attacks that

took place in the United States and the many

people who lost their lives, including some

26 Canadians.

When the US closed their air space,

many planes were diverted to Canadian airports.

Some 42 planes came to Halifax until it

was OK for them to travel to the US,

or back to their home countries.

We purr that events like this do

not happen again.

What Mom Saw

When Mom was in Ottawa on her vacation,

she visited a most interesting museum.

The Canadian Museum of Civilization.

This is located across the Ottawa River

in Gatineau,Quebec

This fountain is just to the side of the main entrance.

You can see the Ottawa River in the background

as well as the Parliament Building(tall steeple

known as the Peace Tower) in Ottawa, Ontario

The fountain viewed from below.

Inside on the first floor is the "First Peoples Hall"

This sculpture is on the back of our

$20 dollar bill.

It was created by Bill Reid and is called

"The Spirit of Haida Gwaii"

on her vacation.

I am on the porch enjoying the sun.

It feels great on mu furs, Now that

Mom is home,I can sit on the porch

again.

Mom is outside feeding the birds and squirrels,

She is getting me some grass too !!

I have not had any since she went on

vacation !

As you know, our dear Sisterkitty-in-law

Misses Peach, went to the Rainbow Bridge

Monday. That makes us very sad.

But, we have our memories. For example...

Mickey met Miss Peach in the Fall of 2007.

Mickey visited Miss Peach at her home.

Love blossomed, and they married

on Halloween!

October 31, 2009

They were very happy until Mickey

went to the Bridge March 11, 2011

Now, they are reunited!!!!!

While we are all happy for them,

we feel lonely and sad,because we miss them so much!

We know we will meet again someday,

we just miss them today.

Monday Musings with Georgia

Hi!! Georgia here, just relaxing on the porch.

Do you remember on Friday we told you

that Mom did a very silly thing when she was

taking pictures in the dark?

Mom figured that it was too dark to take pictures

without a tripod to hold her camera.

Later when she was looking at some

pictures in her camera, she looked at her exif data.

This is a program her camera has to tell her

what exposure,shutter speed and so on, that she

was using.

This is an example of Exif Data.

You can also download programmes,

but Mom has one in her camera.

It was when she was looking at this,

that she noticed a BIG error she made!!!

Mom's lens comes with something

called Vibration Reduction (VR)

This helps reduce some camera shake

when shooting in low light while hand holding

the camera.

Somehow Mom managed to turn the VR to OFF!!!!

We all giggled because Mom's face was a bit red

from embarrassment,hahaha

Now that she turned it back on, there should not

be any more fuzzy pictures of us,

unless we are moving!

Friday Close Ups

YAY!!! It's Friday!!!! That means Mom time.

We are happy about that because Mom was busy this week.

She was doing stuff around the house and not helping

us visit much. Then, one day, Mom and her sister went

out to do some shopping.Then, they went to meet Mom's

sister's hubby near his work as he had an after work meeting.

Did they come home ? NO!!!!!

Not for a bazillion hours!!!!!!!

They did some picture taking!!

It was very dark when Mom finally came home

to give us our dinner. It was 10:30 PM!!!!!

We will be having a talk with Mom this weekend!

Mom and her sister were taking more pics of the

construction hear Mom's brother -in - law's work.

The big crane is up and working.

Progress is being made.

They went up to the top floor of B-I-L's* work

which is 4 floors, and looked down and took more pics!

Did they then head home...NO!

They took pics of the sunset,

after the sunset,

and in the dark!! They played with their camera settings

to see what they could get when it was really dark!

See how dark it is!

Later when looking at the pics,

Mom discovered a very silly thing!!

I will tell you about it soon. Mom

was a little embarrassed at what she did.

We bet she will be doing a bit more

camera manual reading this weekend,haha

When Mom and her sister go out together,

they often get home a bit late for supper.

They feed us right away, then make coffee.

Then, when we are finished eating, Mom

torturers us with that flashy box!!

We do not always play along and the result is

We are not too happy with Mom!

What Mom Saw

Hi, Tillie Here. As you know, Mom and her sister

often go out together to do things like shop,explore

and take pictures.

We are happy they like to take pictures of things other

than us!!

Mom and her sister were near Dalhousie University

to meet up with her sister's hubby. The University is

having a new building constructed, It will be the

Oceans Excellence Centre

There are big machines on the site ans Mom took

some pictures of them. Here is a big,noisy rock

pounder. It is breaking the hard bedrock .

Bet that bean goes home with a headache, heehee

This metal structure on a big concrete base

will become a huge crane to lift heavy things.

That place does not look very pretty right now.

I guess it will take a long time to build.

Mom said it should be finished in 2013.

Oh no!!! Here comes Mom and she has that

flashy box and she is looking at me!!!!!

Gotta go now, see you later!!!!!!!!

Travel Thursday - Bora Bora

Our friend Gracie got a bit miffed at her folks.

It seems her Mom was not helping her blog

and visit!! This sounds familiar to us too.

Just because it's Summer,that does not mean

our beans can go off to do "their own thing"

and leave us kitties high and dry napping

on the couch!!

So!!! Gracie decided to stage her protest in Bora Bora

What a nice place :)

We will join her there and stay until our

beans decide to help us visit our friends'.

We suspect this threat will not last long.

Mom would be lost without us and will give in to

our demands. Besides, we know she has the treats!!

heehee

Georgia and I are relaxing near our lovely hut.

As you can see, there is a nice boardwalk that

is safely above the water. That way, we will not

get our furs wet!!!!

Look at our beautiful room !!!

Lots of windows(every cat loves windows)

and a nice BIG bed for all 5 of us !!!

Room for some friends too !

Oh, we will have a great time here.

Hi,Georgia here. We have been admiring

the gardens'of many of our friends.

I thought that I would show you some flowers in our garden.

Mom does not garden much, but she did

move some daylilies around one year.

This is a little rose.

It is the only rose in our garden.

The flowers are quite delicate.

This is a flower that seeded itself.

It grows tall and is pretty.

Mom cannot remember what it is,heehee

This is a white foxglove .

This is a pretty yellow daylily.

Mom likes this daylily as the petals

are long, like fingers.

This lily is called Stella Doro

It is the only one Mom can name,

heehee

This daylily is very pretty !!

This is looking down the driveway.

As you can see,there are lots of

daylilies and iris plants. I told

you Mom was lazy,heehee

There are also some hostas and .ornamental grasses.

The grasses are still quite young and not very showy yet.

We hope you enjoyed our garden.

I may show you other flowers as the season

moves along,though I am not too

sure what blooms in the Falll

around the garden,heehee

Terrified Kitty!!!!!

Yup!! That's me, Tillie.

We had really bad and loud thunder

and lightning last night!!

I was scared and so were some other

kitties!! JoyJoy and Tiger did not mind

so much.

Mom had to turn the computer off so we

could not visit. Besides, it's hard to visit

from under the covers,heehee !!

We were lucky because we did not loose power.

It was a long night though!!

I hope that thunder does not come back!

Special Monday Wish

Hello friends. It's Georgia.

Today I have a special request.

Our dear sisterkitty-in-law Misses Peach

is feeling quite poorly. She is not eating.

She is 18 1/2 years young and a wonderful kitty.

She is loving and caring and a great friend to

all kitties,woofies and creatures.

She is a beautiful kitty we met in 2007 when

our late brother Mickey met and fell in love with her.

and were very happy until

our brother went to the bridge

on March 11,2011

We are afraid that she may be getting ready

to leave for the Rainbow Bridge.

We do not want her to go, but we

do not want her to stay if she is

too sick. We ask that you keep this special kitty in

your thoughts and prayers. She will need all the love

you can give her. Her Mom and Lapdaddy too.

We know she misses Mickey, but we will miss her

if she goes.

Dear Misses Peach, whatever you decide,

please know we will always love you!!!!

Monday With Georgia

Oh hi!! Georgia here. Happy Monday.

WE all got to hang out with Mom on Sunday,

but on Saturday,Mom ,her sister and her hubby

went to see a parade. It was the Halifax Pride

parade.

There were lots of people there

and lots of entries in the parade.

Animals too !!!!!

It has been a warm week, but not

nearly as hot as other places.

The evenings have been quite nice

Mancat Monday

Hi, I'm Treasure and today I am doing a

photo shoot.

Before we get to that, I must ask you a favour.

Cookie went to the Vet to get his teeth cleaned.

We are not sure what happened, but he woke up

and cannot see. There is a 50/50 chance he will get

his sight back.

Cookie has has operations before.

He had his tail removed a while ago.

We are purring very hard for Cookie!!

Now,on to my photo shoot.
