Georgia Update - Great News!!!!

We are very happy in our home tonight.
The mass that was seen has been determined to be
fecal matter. This means Georgia was more constipated
 than we all thought.
There was a bunch of stool trapped in the small intestine
and she required help to get it out.
She was given a general anesthetic and the Vet did her work
to make Georgia feel better.

Her leg is bandaged because she still has the IV line in.
She will go back to the Vet Saturday and spend the day
getting IV fluids, then come back home.
She will go in Monday for the day then be at home for a while
to recover before another check up.
Needless to say we are as relieved as we can be!
I am just sad she had to get to this state.
The important thing is that she will be OK.
We just need to get her intestines back to normal.

I don't feel great yet, but I am happy to be home.

maybe I need a good sleep.

THANK YOU
all for your purrs and kind thoughts !
They were such a comfort !

  3. Oh Georgia we had been purrin ALL day. You've been in our thoughts and we were watching for an update. aAngel Abby had trouble with constipation and Mom used organic slippery elm, organic finely ground flax and organic pumpkin and that did the trick. It was all safe and we were glad. Another thing to ask your Vet if you haven't already is about Miralax which I know a lot of kitties use. We are so glad Georgia is doing so good. Happy dances!!!

  7. OH, fabulous!!! Better out than in, Georgia...we'll keep purring for you.

Felix occasionally gets Miralax, Mommy puts a pinch in tuna juice and he slurps it up, and it "works" quite well. (He tends to cork up during shedding season.)

  33. Oh I'm so happy the mass was nothing serious! Still, being constipated is really hard. I know very well how uncomfortable from my own experience! Niko tends to get constipated, too, so I add pumpkin to breakfast occasionally. I hope her intestines get back to 100% normal and she feels much better!

  38. Oh Georgia! Hope you recover quickly, and that things 'come out' alright! We put canned pumpkin in Chucky's food, to help him with his constipation. I've even switched to non-clumping wheat litter, believing the clumping chemical was making him bind up inside! You are such a pretty kitty, Georgia...glad your prognosis is good! Happy Mother's day to everyone!
