My sweet Treasure crossed his Rainbow Bridge tonight.
Bit by bit his body just started to shut down.
Improvement in one area was accompanied by a deterioration
in another. He would rally for a very short time,
then relapse.
There was no hope of any meaningful recovery.
After a long visit at the hospital, I made the painful
decision to let him go.
I will miss you by my pillow and will miss the
licks you gave me when I scratched your chin.
Thank you for being a part of my life sweet boy.

ReplyDeleteI am so heartbroken reading this news. I am very very sorry for your loss . Although I know 19 years seem like a lengthy time, it went by in a blink of an eye. It's never long enough. It's so hard because their lives are so much shorter than the time we wish to spend with them. I keep you in my prayers, and say we will miss you deeply sweet Treadure.

Treasure, I am deeply saddened by your loss. You are in my heart forever more. I will miss your face and seeing you here but I will always have your memory to cheer me when I visit your siblings. Nancy, the pain is terrible and sharp and the thing to remember in those times is all the love and care ...especially the love, that you gave your precious boy. And he loved you right back. you here, don't be afraid" and St Francis gently picked up Treasure and carried him into the kingdom of heaven.....when the little cat looked around, he realized everything St Francis told him on his journey was true ~~~~
heaven was beautiful beyond what mere words could express ♥
and Treasure saw there was no pain, suffering, fear, sickness, hunger, thirst or sorrow, until he looked down and saw the family and friends he had left behind....and for a very brief moment, the little cat too, was filled with sorrow.
then St Francis bestowed Treasure with a set of wings and said, "Use them to return to your family, when their need is the greatest, as nothing can separate your bond of love. Hold each other in your hearts and your memories, until you are reunited again at heaven's door."
and when the little cat tried on his wings, he knew nothing was impossible...... when there is love

Oh dearest Nancy....we are so sad at the cozy cottage that your precious boy Treasure failed so quickly and left for the rainbow bridge. I know you will treasure his sweet memory and that it will comfort your ache in your heart. Treasure looks so very much like our Lion and his kitten that have lived in our garden for over 8 years now....this evening I went out on the patio to freshen up the kibble and for the very first time the kitten stayed on his heated pad and did not run from me...I knew it has to be for a special reason....I know Treasure told him to stay put and all will be well. You see, I believe that he did indeed leave that 'treasure' for my heart...you special boy!
