Mom and dad are dressing up as a couple who don't want any extra candy in the house because they rarely get anyone at their door and don't want a bunch of it lying around not getting eaten by little ghosts, goblins and other assorted ghouls. (actually, they don't ever get any trick-or-treaters here)
