Julie: Today I am telling you about the common
problems incurred when photographing a
black cat.
Lighting is important.
With all our black furs, it is easy to miss
seeing things like our eyes.
Be sure your cat is looking at the camera.
Some editing may be required if the situation is
low light.
If you are looking for a silhouette, then black
cats are perfect.
Mum knows these things and still gets lots
of photo fails.
Usually, mum is just happy if I look at the camera.
I do not always cooperate. MOL!!!

ReplyDeleteMy human hasn't had a black cat in a long time... and she wasn't that big on photographing cats back then, just rock bands! But yes, you kitties really test your humans' photographic skills.
ReplyDeleteI used to have 2 black cats and invariably they turned out looking like black lumps in their photos.
ReplyDeleteAyla here: I get the photo fails. An with ME its just my face. You must need the flashy a lot...
ReplyDeleteThe biped gets photo fails all the time, Julie, and Derry isn't even black. Ha. Your mum does a good job, even with the so-called fails! :-)
ReplyDeleteBoy, mommy said she has had black cats and you sure have to be careful with lighting. Julie..I love looking at you and so does mom here. XXX
ReplyDeleteYou always look beautiful no matter what sweet Julie!
ReplyDeleteThose are too cute to be fails. I have a tough time getting photos of my 2 black cats and my tuxie, Emmy too. Have a wonderful weekend. XO

ReplyDeleteJust 'cause cameras and phones aren't set up to snap always excellent photos of housepanthers, isn't the fault of the cats, Julie!
ReplyDeleteNow that we have a House Panther at the Poupounette, #1 is experiencing many moe photo fais than before!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Tama and Benny
You're beautiful in any light, Julie!
ReplyDeleteJulie if you are in the photo it cant possibly be a fail! Dad does complain about getting good photos of our Toby who also is a house panfur. He says 1 in 10 is good. We say its the photographer MOL
ReplyDeleteAs much as I don't care to share about a cat that's not me, dad wanted me to say how one of the things he loved about old Orbit was the way his jet black fur had a red-ish tint to it in the right light, but he could never really capture it with a camera.
