Julie: Mum Was Away for the Day !

Julie: Well friends, mum was gone all day Saturday and did not
get back until it was very late!
I will cut her some slack as she had a very important
birthday party to attend.

Her Uncle Donny celebrated his 102nd birthday on July 5!
Mum attended a party for him on Saturday.
It was held at the Seniors home in Annapolis Royal,NS

On the was in, she saw this couple who were coming from
a function at the seniors home.

Here is mum's Uncle Donnie with the youngest member
of the family. His Great Nephew Edward is 6 weeks old!

102 years and 6 weeks is quite an age gap!

Here is her Uncle with  2 more Great Grandchildren.
They are Edward's older siblings.

When they went back to mum's cousin's place, it was suppertime
and also milking time. Little Edward's parents run the family farm now.
You can see the cows starting to cross the road.

Mum's cousin's hubby is helping his son.
He has the flag incase a car comes down the road.

Here we see Gad,son and Grandson herding the cows.

Gate closed, the cows head to the barn.
That is little Edward' s Dad.

There was lots of food and kids.
They played soccer in the backyard.
They have a lot of room.

Mum was happy to see two cats at the gathering too.

These cats were lucky. With lots of people  and lots of food,
they got lots of snacks!

Mum was home late and we had supper late.
We were glad she came back though and  it's not like she does
this a lot so we will let her off...this time.

Sunday was pretty nice and I was on the porch.
You can see what I saw over at

  1. Looks like a fantastic family gathering. For a short time, we had 4 generations living with my grandmother being 99 and her great grand-children being young.
The family farm looks like a wonderful place, for people and the animals. That first kitty's tail is very thick!

  2. Wow, that is so cool. We sure hope Uncle Donnie had a great time celebrating his 102nd birthday. That was a good reason for your mum to be late getting home, huh? :)

  6. We never think that humans have a good reason to abandon us, but we do admit that yours has the benefit of doubt: 102 is a very cool birthday to celebrate and we get that your human didn't want to miss it.

Mom loved the pictures a lot, especially the couple arriving for the party!

  7. 102, wow! Does he still have his mental faculties? He looks in the pic, amazingly good, certainly not 102.

Anyway, it seems like it was a lovely family get-together and celebration. Bonus that the area is so pretty, as our biped does recall. :-)

  19. We allow that sometimes our Beins have to be away a whole day. But it sure is hard on us. We love our routines and that messes them.

  20. It's good you didn't make a fuss about your mom taking the day off from you to be with human family. 102 has to be celebrated! What a joy to be able to share time with family of all ages.
