Icy Weekend

Julie: On Friday, mum was home because there was
a big ice storm.
It started out as rain and boy did it rain!
The temperature dropped way down overnight
and the water froze!
Mum was careful when she went out Saturday morning
to put out birdseed.
As you can see, Mr & Mrs Mallard liked the seeds.

Sunday, we had some sunshine and it sparkled in
the icy branches.

I enjoyed spending some time in my cat bed.

It was a pretty relaxing day as mum spent some time
reading  her book. When she finished, I got lots
of brushings. I really liked that.

All in all, it was a pretty good weekend.
How was your weekend?

  4. Oh Julie. Thank goodness you were inside! And that ws brave of your mommy to go out to feed the birdies. I hope she has those grippers to put on her shoes to help keep from falling on ice.

You and your mom had a good weekend right there at home and helped your birdie residents too.

  12. Wow, that WAS a lot of ice! It seems you did not lose power, so now you cna enjoy all the pretty sparkles the ice fairies left for you. But be careful, at least tell your Mom, that, Julie.

We had a bit of freezing rain here this morning, but it just made more of a slippery mess than causing power outs, etc.

Hurry up Spring! We miss you and we need you to return, LOL!

  15. It was very icy in here too. I am glad the ducks have food.

  16. You look so cozy. I bet those ducks appreciated the easy-to-find seeds.

  17. TBT put out trays of seeds on a recent snow too. we and he watched the birds eating from the. And he put out bowls of water. Birds have trouple getting water when things freeze. He changed the bowls when they started to freeze over the top.

  18. Yes, the weather did change really quick here also that day. We had tons of rain then froze pretty quickly. We are glad you had a wonderful weekend with your mum. Thanks for sharing. Have a great rest of your day.

  20. Sure sounds like you had yourself a wonderful weekend, dear girl. Dad says he and mom remember those icy storms from living up in New England, and don't miss them!
