Lots of Snow!!!

Julie: Guess what? We had a snowstorm Thursday night!

Mum was glad to be home before it got bad.

So was I.

This is what it looked like in the morning!

Lots of snow! 

Mum was glad it was light and not heavy and wet.

She said it was not too bad for shoveling.

The snow did not stop the Earl the Squirrel!

He just burrows through the snow.

He really wants the seeds mum puts out.

So do the chickadees.

In the afternoon, the sun came out.

Mum and I saw a really strange bird!!!

 

OK, it was the way the snow covered the end cap on the deck

but the cap is not that high!!!

I think it really looks like a snowbird!

 Today is sunny, but we will have rain for the weekend.

Yup, strange weather  in Nova Scotia!

Strange weather, but this weekend mum and I will

be sure to have FUN !!!!

 

What a Cat Does When it Snows!

On Saturday, it was pretty nice.

A bunch of birds dropped by to enjoy some seeds.

Sunday, they had to dig for the seeds!

What's a cat to do when it snows?

Sleep!!!

Georgia - Our Big Snowy Weekend !

Georgia: Well , Sunday we had a BIG snowstorm.

We got lots of snow too.

Mom was not too impressed, but she got lots of

exercise moving the snow.

This is before the storm.

Finally Friday with JJ

JJ here today.

I get to do the reporting today because all the other kitties

are busy or snoozing. Besides,I hardly ever get to post!

As you can see, Georgia is having a great snooze!

Last Friday we had a BIG snowstorm Mom said was a blizzard.

It was so bad,work was cancelled. Mom took these pictures

during the storm.

Even in blowing snow, this mourning dove sat in the tree!

It was then joined by some friends.

Even the smaller birds came looking for food.

During the storm,Mom would go out and clear out the birdfeeder

and stump and put out seeds. The snow quickly piled up and 

the birds would dig for the seeds!

The tree branches were well covered in light,fluffy snow.

Mom said it was easy to move with her shovel.

When Monday came, it got warm and rained and took a lot 

of the snow away. Then it got cold and everything froze again.

There was even some pretty frost on the windows.

Winter paints some interesting images.

Today is not as cold and tomorrow will be even warmer.

Mom says we will be having rain this weekend and 

temperatures above 0 Celsius for next week.

There will  not be much sun though!

Monday Musings with Georgia

Georgia: Hi there friends!  Mom has finally decided to 

help me blog. She says she was busy and then had

to get prepared for the BIG snowstorm that

came on the weekend. I think she was just

a bit lazy.

Well, we did get the snowstorm on Saturday and most

 of Sunday. Mom spent a lot of time outdoors shoveling 

the snow. She said it was not very heavy and she 

was glad! We were glad too as she had to relax

when she came in and that meant we all got lots

of snuggles!

Mom found some mats in JJ's fur, so he got combed 

and floofed, heehee.

Tiger was just happy to roll on the floor,

and give Mom the laser eye for using the flash!!

Treasure is recovering from having 3 teeth stolen by

 the Vet.He could not meow very much and even

had a stuffy nose, but he is doing better now. 

He has a check-up  on Thursday and I bet he

will not want to go !

Mom saw some Mourning Doves in the birdfeeder

so she shoveled a path to the feeder and the tree

stump below it.She put out sunflower seeds and

cracked corn. The birds loved it  as you can see !

A nice neighbour used his ATV to push a lot of the snow out

of the way in our driveway. All Mom had to do was tidy it up a bit.

 We will not be having any snowstorms this week and it will

be warmer. Mom is happy about that! We have not had

this much snow  for quite a few years!

We hope to get back to visiting too !!
