Monday Musings with Georgia

Georgia: Hi friends. As yo can see, I am having a relax
on this very comfy blankie. I also have something to tell you.
A while ago I had my annual check up.
Based on things mum told the Vet she decided to test my pee.
See, I was not hungry at breakfast and would run
away when mum wanted to give me breakfast.
Our Vet does the test in house so we knew the results
a few hours after the test. Mum just needed to think about
the results for a while.

The Vet said I had a lot of calcium in my pee.
This can be an indicator of a tumor.
The Vet decided that a high protein diet would be good for me
and she also gave mum an appetite stimulant for me.
Well, I loved the food and never did need the stimulant.
We will see how things go at my semi-annual check.
For now, we are not going to worry.

Whew! That was a lot to say.
I think I will go back to relaxing now.

JJ is very good at relaxing. He has a favourite spot
by the fireplace and sleeps there a lot.
You can see how happy he is.

Earl the Squirrel is also happy.
The birdfeeder is full of seeds and he is eating as fast as he can!

Julie was spending some time window gazing.

Georgia, we're hoping that the calcium in your pee was just an anomaly. We're glad you like your new food.

Not happy you weren't feeling well but very happy you like your new food. Humans, though sometimes annoying, can be useful in making us feel better. Wishing you pools of sunshine.

Fingers crossed Georgia! You have the right attitude! Just keep eating and do as your mom tells you (well as much as it is possible for a cat to ever listen!) ps we have a red squirrel in our backyard too-- i love those little guys!

I am glad you like the food. I will add you to my prayer list. My Sammy has idiopathic hypercalcemia which means after thousands of dollars on blood tests and an ultrasound, there is no cause. He has the special food though so he won't get a blockage from a calcium deposit.

You're very wise to (at least try to) not worry too much. You seem to be in good hands with your vet, and it's sure best to follow her instructions and keep as calm as possible.

We're very glad you like your new food, Georgia!! Our human freaks out when we don't eat what we're supposed to eat.... SO you're helping a lot when you do.
