Julie's Thoughts on Monday

Julie: Saturday was nice and sunny but a bit cool.
I did not go out for long.
Mum is not too keen on  me going outside right now.
The reason is ticks. They are out and about  and mum
does not want any to get on me or bite me.

I am not too crazy about that, but I do not want any
tick bites either. If that happens it means a trip to the Vet.

For now, I will be content to be indoors.
Mum can always get some grass for me.
She will have to be careful of ticks too, but she
has boots to protect her.
Ooooooo those darn ticks!!!
They spoil my FUN!

I do like getting my own grass but I know mum
can get nice juicy blades of grass for me.
I do like being a spoiled cat.
Hey mum, how about some belly rubs!!!

Ticks are a huge nuisance, not to mention a health hazard. Years ago Minko got bitten by one...and petcretary once found one in her hair...ugh!

Ticks are horrible. The Frontline I used for fleas kept the ticks off the boys too. Eric once had a tiny one on his butt. You would have thought I was murdering him when I removed it.

Our region has a terrible tick problem too; it has spoiled the biped's rambles through wooded area. Best to be safe and stay indoors or on your deck, Julie.

Mom has been beset with ticks on her photographic rambles as she likes macros and delights incapturing bees, and other benevolet insects. She once found a tick bite on her upper arm several days after she was in bushes at the arboretum trying to get photos of bees...and of flowers. Several days later the red bullseye appeared. She couldn't get to the doctor quickly ebough. He saved her from bad effects of Lyme disease through a certain antibiotic. for a month.

No, no ... and a tick on the tock would be a bummer! (sorry ... couldn't resist) Think we've dealt with those nasties just about everywhere we've lived, on our pets and humans alike, so yes ~ stay inside, no bitey!

Very wise to be wary of ticks, Julie!
Celestial PO'M had one under his chinny chin chin, and it was GROSS!

Thanks for the reminder about ticks Julie ! It's good that you understand why Mom is so concerned and wants to keep you inside. Purrs.

Ticks are awful. My hubby had one on his ear yesterday, but thankfully it didn't bite him. He has had lyme disease 3 times. Have a nice week indoors where it is safe. You look extra pretty on the blue blankie. XO

Ticks are very nice critters indeed, and it is best to avoid them if at all possible!

Dad was just reading an article about a more-dangerous tick spreading northward that causes quite an illness. The other day dad came home for lunch and when he went into the bathroom to floss, he spotted what he first thought was a speck of dirt on his cheek that turned out to be a good sized tick! Thankfully, it had barely gotten its head in and dad managed to pull it off easily.
