of the Big Lift.
The Angus L MacDonald Bridge is getting old
and is need of major repairs so that it will be standing
for another 70 or so years.
This massive project involves replacing the deck of the bridge.
This will be done a section at a time. There will be 46 sections.
This past weekend was the first section.
The deck replacement will occur on weekends and where
applicable, the work will be done over night between
7:30 PM and 5:30 AM

Saturday night, work continued on the bridge.
Old re-bar needed to be removed to fit in the new section.
You can see orange areas where the grinding was going on.
It produced lots of smoke that created an ethereal scene.

This weekend,the replacement took a long time to get the new
section in place. They took time to ensure all was secure.
The bridge opened to traffic Monday morning, a few hours late.
Needless to say, the morning commute for some was long,
as there was only one bridge open.
Fortunately, there is a ferry service, so I was not affected
by the delayed opening this Monday morning.
While at the bridge, there was a lovely crescent moon :)
