Topsy Turvy

Hi friends, Tillie here.
I thought I should let you all know that we are still around.
We have not blogged for a while, because things are a bit
topsy turvy around here. You see, there is a
transit strike on here.  Mom does not have a car,
and we live in the boonies. Just to get into town ,
is about 14km (8.6 mi ).To get to her work is
about 25km (15.5mi ).
Getting a ride there is not easy.

Mom is getting a ride from her sister and
her hubby. As they live an hour away from us,
Mom has to stay at her sister's house.
There is a lot of running back and forth
between houses.Sometimes Mom can only come
here every 2nd day. None of us are happy,
including Mom! There also does not
seem to be any end in sight, so we are not sure
what the plans are for next week.
You can see mom  is making a coffee behind me.
She is drinking lots of that stuff!!!
We will try to at least visit you, blogging may
be harder.

Ohh. Several years ago we had a transit strike here, and mama didn't have a car anymore and it was horrible and long. She had a couple of nice co-workers who detoured to get her to and from work. She said, thank goodness at the time she was working for a religous school! But the rest of life was tough. And she really did feel bad having to ask for rides and make people go out of their way. She still gets mad about the strike just thinking about it! Lots of people lost their jobs because of it because they couldn't get to work. Good luck, and I will purrr hard for the strike to be over for you!!

That's horrible about the transit strike! It's so unfair especially to folks like your mom, and you guys, too. We sure hope it gets resolved real soon. Hugs!

Precious sister kitty....I know how hard it is on all of you not seeing your mom each day right now...but this too will pass. We are just so delighted to see that your mom makes her coffee just like my mom...with a filter cup on the coffee mug! Did we see that right?
KNow we love and care for all of you so very much...things will get back to normal again....we must wait sometimes for that to happen...until then...we love you all...your sister kitty Hunny Bunny

Transit strikes are bad enough but having one in the middle of winter is really cruel!

We love that photo, Tillie!

My mom was telling me about the strike and as someone who doesn't have a car, I feel for your mom! Hope this gets sorted out. I'm lucky, I'm only 5 kms from my work and easily can walk it if it ever happens here (hope not). The whole Halifax-Dartmouth-Bedford area is so widespread, it's a terrible inconvenience for so many. It includes the ferries too, doesn't it? Crazy. How about back-to-work legislation?

We're glad you're OK - we got a bit worried. It must be stressful for your mom, but also for you cats to deal with all the change. Hope the resolve the transit trike soon.

The coffee scene looks familiar. I just made coffee in a single cone like that, too :)
