Monday Musings with Georgia

After some rain this week, we are enjoying some

warm sunny days. I have been spending some time high up on

this shelf where I can look down on things 

and keep an eye on Mom.

Today is also a holiday for some people,

 but not essential services and retail workers.

It is Victoria Day.

I also like to lay on the floor and soak up sunbeams!!

Treasure is on the porch looking for some attention from Mom.

Tiger is getting comfy so she can have a good snooze.

JJ is waiting by the porch door hoping Mom will bring

him some grass!! JJ,Tiger and Tillie all love grass and 

Mom did get them some.

Gee, another weekend is here.

This week seemed long as we did not get to visit

our friends. Mom was having some computer problems.

Our 'puter is OLD and slow. Guess this means that

Mom is shopping for a new one..

As for us, we have been hanging around,napping and

getting belly rubs.

Hi!! I hope you all had a good weekend!

Mom was away for a day.She went to another sister's place

to celebrate Mother's Day as her Mom was there. 

We got lots of scritches when Mom came back home!!

This is Bradley. He lives with Mom's other sister.

Mom has 3 sisters. One sister lives with our furcousins

Mindy,Moe,Mike and Cookie

Bradley is not a blogging kitty.

He is a handsome gray and white kitty.

He is funny though!!

He likes fresh water,straight from the tap!

He drinks well from either side of the sink !

He howls until someone comes and turns the tap on.

He may not blog, but he knows about training

his beans!!! Heeheehee!!!

Tillie is having fun too.

SPIDER !!!!!

Well, Spring is definitely here because the

BIG spiders are back!!!!!

Mom is not too happy about that because

they scare her ,as they move so fast!!

I think they might be fun to play with,but Mom 

does NOT want them in the house!

Darn!

Mom was on the deck and saw this fellow on the screen.

She came indoors and tried to get it off the screen.

All it did was jump onto the window casing.

Since it would not go away,Mom decided to take pictures of it.

She was thankful for having a telephoto lens on her camera.

Did I mention Mom is scared of spiders??

 She had her finger next to it but she would have

 run from the room if it moved, hahaha

There is actually space between the screen and the spider.

This spider is known as a Fishing or Wharf spider.

The females can get quite large,about 3 inches.

Mom hopes it will go away soon, but it has been rainy

and the spider is content to stay dry.

Mom just hopes it is content to stay outside!!!!!

Mom is going to see her Mom this weekend, so we may 

not get to visit much, but we will try.

Happy Mother's Day to all moms this Sunday!!!!!

The BIG Moon

This past weekend,Mom said we had a very big moon!

It is called a  perigee moon.

Mom says that it is closer to us and  very big, like my eyes!

Mom took some pictures.It was pretty cloudy and 

she had to wait  for breaks.Good thing she did as we have

 had foggy nights since, and rain is in the forecast.

Almost looks spooky!

Big and round.

Mom said the cloudy moon reminded her of a poem

by Alfred Noyes called "The Highwayman"

Especially the first stanza:
THE wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees, 
The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas, 
The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor, 
And the highwayman came riding— 
Riding—riding— 
The highwayman came riding, up to the old inn-door.

Hi friends!! It's Friday and that means the weekend 

is here.Mom is off  so it also means Mom time!!

We have been having some sunny and pleasant days,

so it was nice to be on the porch.With the longer evenings, 

we can stay out on the porch longer too! 

We purr you have a good weekend and pleasant

weather too.If the weather is not nice,have fun

A sunbeam and a fuzzy blankie...who can blame her?

Gardening Thursday

Hi, I'm JJ and today, I am doing  my first

Feline Gardeners report.

Bear in mind that the garden is done by Mom.

I can suggest, but I cannot make Mom do the 

required work! However, I will do my best.

I may have to get pointers from the founder of

this group, Jonesie!!

One rainy day, Mom took pictures of a few blooms  .

This daffodil was just starting to open.

It is open now,but I have to send Mom out for a picture!

These tiny flowers were the first ones to bloom.

We have lots of Vinca, and it is a ground cover.

It covers land close to some trees that we do not need 

to have  grass because it is too rocky to mow.

The leaves are shiny and stay green all Winter.

This daffodil is in another part of the garden

and was in full bloom. It is quite pretty.

I hope that as the season  moves along I will be able

to bring more reports and pictures.

Mom wants a simple,easy to care for garden, so she 

wants to put in decorative grasses.

Tillie won't like that as she will not be able to eat them!!
