Sun, Rain and Critters!

 

Julie: We had a mostly good weekend.

Saturday was quite nice and sunny.

I sat on the front stoop/ramp and watched

the front yard. That's where the bird feeders are

and the groundhog, though I did

not see her around.

Good thing I was not out back!

Rocky was there!

I would not want to tangle with that beast!

On the other paw, the hummingbird feeder

is there and was busy.

Most often, I watch them from indoors.

Mum's room has patio doors that look out onto

the deck and I can easily see the feeders

from the comfort of mum's bed.

It is still a bit coolish outside but the

temps should rise during the week as

the sun will be back! Sunday was very rainy

but today is better and dry.

The rest of the week should be sunny too

and I like that!! Bet the critters do too!

Finally Friday

Georgia: While I am looking forward to the  weekend,

I am looking forward to a nap right now.

No more pictures mum!

JJ: This is my suave and debonair look.

Is it working?

Julie: Mum just told me that we are expecting 

very heavy rain for Saturday.

I hope I can still get on the porch.

After all, it is enclosed so I will not get wet and it will be

reasonably warm.

In our yard this week,

Mr Chipmunk.

While he does not get along with the squirrels, 

he is not being scared away.

He still visits.

Mum also saw some very yellow Gold Finches.

She was happy to see these birds 

as she does not see them every day.

.

Mixed Weather for This Weekend Means Snoozing

Georgia: We enjoyed a nice sunny day on Thursday.

It was pretty warm too.

Today it is raining and windy.

No porch time  as it is not as nice when it is cool and rainy.

It will be like that until Saturday evening.

When it's windy and rainy, the best thing to do 

is sleep like JJ and Julie.

Treasure is still undecided as to where he wants to go.

We suspect he will find a cozy spot and begin his nap.

Mum says the sun will be back on Sunday.

We will like that a lot. It means porch time!

What ever your weather this weekend,

we purr you all have FUN!!!

Finally Friday

Georgia: Once again Friday is here and we are happy.

We like when mum is around because we love the company

and all the attention.

JJ: Mum told us it was a very strange week with regard

to weather. It was stormy last Friday and mum was late 

getting home because of snow. Then the temps went up

and a lot of snow melted.

Treasure: Thursday and today we have had rain and lots of it!

Mum said  we had about 50mm (2 inches) !

That really got rid of some snow!

It was also warm enough to be on the porch after dark.

Julie: Mum says Saturday will be cooler but sunny.

I like sunny.

Mum took some pictures of the snow last Saturday.

Here is some water dripping from the roof.

This picture shows icy snow on tree branches.

You can see it melting.

The icy,heavy snow caused big problems for many people

 in our province. On the map below the area near the upper right

is called Cape Breton. They got lots of snow and wind.

Just opposite the island (Prince Edward Island)

is Pictou.

This is a picture of Pictou last weekend.

It was taken by Nova Scotia Power and shows snowy trees

 on power lines,This type of thing caused lots of

 power outages for lots of people.

Some had no power for 3-4 days!

We are thankful we did not lose power!

We are also glad we are indoors and dry with 

all the rain falling today!

A Memory of Sun

Georgia: We are all happy it is the weekend.

That means Mom time.

But we are sad. It has been raining very hard.

It started Thursday morning and it is still raining!

We are sad because we miss the sun.

All we have right now are our memories of the 

sunshine of last weekend!

JJ: I love sunshine and I miss it too.

I miss doing this.

Julie: I also remember the sun. It was nice and warm.

Treasure: I wish mom could bring back the sun.

This is my memory.

After all that rain, Mom says it will be cloudy all weekend.

Then on Monday, the rain will be back(if not before)

because the storm Joaquin appears to be headed our way!

It will be a tropical storm by the time it gets here,

but it will bring more rain!

We have already had close to100mm!

That's almost 4 inches!

We are lucky we live on a hill because we will not get flooded.

The yard,though, has lots of water in it!

We purr you all have a sunny  weekend or at least a 

FUN weekend!

After the Deluge

On Wednesday, we had a HUGE rainstorm.

We received 104mm of rain,or 4 inches!

Many roads were flooded as were homes.

We were indoors,nice and dry. Mom was the only one to get wet.

Thursday was nice and sunny and JJ was on the porch.

It was warm and he wanted a snooze, so he chose this tiny box.

As you can see,the size  not bother him at all.

Julie: I on the other paw like to stretch out.

I like to lay on this big pink towel.

It is a great place for a snooze and the warm sun made me sleepy.

I love warm sunny days.

Mom says we will be having showers until Monday.

Darn! I want sunshine!

Here is a video of the river close to our home.

It was very full and very fast due to all the rain.

Monday Musings with Georgia

What a weekend we had!!!

Friday it rained and rained and rained!!

We had more rain than the last big rain.

Last time we had 104mm and this time we had

108mm. That's about 4 inches!!!!!!

This puddle is in the front yard!

When the rain stopped, Mom took

pictures of the river by our house.

It was moving very fast and Mom

said the levels were really high!!!

This river is moving toward Lake Echo.

The water is pretty high and close

to our neighbour's grass!!!

Good thing it stopped raining.

The puddles in our yard are gone now.

I am glad I am not near that water!!!

I think my box is safer and 

way more comfy, heehee

Easy Like Sunday

This weekend we had buckets of rain!! Lots and lots and lots of rain!

We are glad it was not snow, but Mom was REALLY happy it was not snow, hahaha!!

I decided to just snooze and while away the day on my Gizzy

that Mrs Quilter made .

Tillie wanted to play "STRIPE". See ?

There is a green stripe, a black (Tillie) stripe and a blue stripe,heeheehee.

Georgia decided to hang out on her table by the window and just watch Mom doing stuff.

All in all, a pretty quiet day here in rainy Nova Scotia.
