Random Pictures Friday

Georgia: Well, once again it is Friday.
We are happy but mum is happier as she has 2 days
to spend with us!
This past week mum saw lots of interesting things
and we are sharing them with you.

This is a picture of a female cardinal.
Mum does not often see this bird as she is
away from home working.
Mum was happy to see her visiting though

Mum was looking out the kitchen window one day and saw this snail!
No, she did not bring it in for us to sample.

This is a Burning bush.
In the Fall when days grow shorter, the the leaves start to turn  a
bright red. In other words,it "burns"

Last week, many people were affected by Hurricane Matthew.
He still had enough energy to make it us to Nova Scotia!
On Monday he blew across our province.
While the farthest east part, known as Cape Breton, got the worst
with severe flooding and damage to roads and property,
we got high wind and rain.
The wind broke this big branch.

As the branch fell, it hit this window and broke it!
The window has double panes and only the outside pane broke.
Mum will have to fix it before Winter.

On her way to work Thursday, mum saw this cat
trying to figure out how to get that pigeon.
We think that all he could do was watch wistfully.

We should be getting a sunny weekend
and we are looking forward to doing more of this.
It is not often that you get to see 3 of us in one picture.
here I am with Julie and JJ.
Treasure was sleeping somewhere else.

We are looking forward to a fun weekend again.
WE purr that all of you also have a
FUN weekend!

Treats!!

Julie: After supper, mum will give us some treats.
We look forward to that part of the day!

However, she tends to get busy with other stuff and it
is up to me to remind her!
I am very good at my job too!

Enough posing mum...treats! Now!

Finally! Nom,nom,nom...

My brofur JJ also likes treats.
Mum added some to his kibble.
He did not mind as he did not finish all his kibble  at
supper. No, I actually did not finish the kibble for him!

This time, he ate the treats and the few remaining bits of kibble.

Georgia has mum very well trained.
She does not have to move a paw as mum brings her
treats to her! Can you believe that?

She loves her treats.

Treasure also loves treats even though he is toothless.
He also likes some kibble.

We are also very excited this Friday.
Mum will be home for 3 days!
That's because it is Thanksgiving weekend here
in Canada!
WooHoo!

We purr you all have a FUN weekend whatever is going on
in your part of the world.

We also purr  that any of our friends in the path of
hurricane Matthew will be safe
as this is a very big and nasty hurricane !

Something Wicked This Way Comes...

Georgia: Hmmmm, I smell something in the wind.

I'm not sure it is a good thing.
I have smelled it before!

Treasure, I think a storm is coming!

Storms mean wind and rain and no sun.

JJ: As long as the storm does not interfere with my supper!

Julie: I just hope I can lay on the porch and watch the storm.

This storm has a name, "Arthur"
Right now it is a hurricane, but it should be a tropical
storm by the time it gets to us.We will still get lots of
wind and rain on Saturday!

Today, we wish all our American friends a
Happy 4th of July!

We wish everyone a fun weekend.

Goodbye Earl!!

Hey friends... we;re back!!!!!
Mom got home Wednesday, then worked Thursday & Friday.
Then Saturday, we had a BIG storm!!!
Hurricane Earl stopped by for a visit.
He was a strong Tropical Storm by the time he
got to our place, but he still made a mess.
I don't think Mom will invite him back.
He was not a nice guest!! He knocked our power our
for 27 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At night is was super dark !

Mom saw this branch out of a window.
You can see that the wind was still blowing, because of the blurry leaves.

Then, this tree blew over!!!!!!

You can see the roots!
Because there is a lot of bedrock, the roots grow very
close to the surface of the ground.
That makes them good targets for hurricanes and big windy storms.

The next day, Mom's sister and her husband came over to help clean up.
They have a chainsaw, and it got lots of work, heehee

That was a BIG beech tree!!!!!!!!!

Mom's sister moving some branches to the other side of the deck.
There is still lots to clean up, and it will take some time.
We are lucky no real damage was done.

Uneasy Sunday

Tillie : We are a bit uneasy today.
That's because Mom said a hurricane is coming.
It is passing by, but will leave tons of rain and wind!!

Georgia: It's already starting to look pretty cloudy. Windy too!!
We better make sure the Temptations and our foods are in a safe ,dry place!

Mickey: Oooooooooo!!! I am not crazy about this hurricane!
I'm glad we are indoors!! That wind would blow me away!
Gee, I hope the power does not go out!!
Well,I gotta go now!! I have to keep an eye on this storm.

This hurricane is BIG!!

It's going to pass pretty close to us!
