Out For a Short ,But Fun Time

Julie: Once again I was lucky enough to get outside.
It was later in the day and the sun had gone behind
the clouds.Once again, rain is in the forecast.
It was also getting cooler.

Just before I went inside I saw a twig.
Naturally I had to play with it!!
I am a cat after all. MOL!!

I'm just going to give this twig a whap!

Whoa! Where did that  go!
Down there huh?
Guess it will stay down there as I know
mum won't let me go get it and I'm not sure
I want to  either
Oh well, it was a fun outing even if it was short.

My FUN Weekend!

Julie: I got to go outside.
It was sunny and warm too!
Needless to say I was excited!

I had a good look around...

then I hopped into the grass .
Mum is right. The tasty young grass is gone, but there
is still some grass!
I loved exploring and all the smells.
I was good and stayed close to mum.

Earl was in the tree and screeching.
I ignored him. After all, it was my time outdoors.
He can run around anytime.

Even though my outdoor time was short, I really
enjoyed it a lot . I hope it will be a long while before any of that
white, cold stuff comes around. I like my short excursions!
I hope mum lets me out again soon.

Finally Friday

Julie: Fine dining. I have a window with a view
at least when it is in Spring and Summer.
Now, it gets dark sooner and there is not much to see
outside except... dark!

I don't mind as I am concentrating on my supper.
When I'm done, I hop down and hang out with mum.

Also, I know mum complains that I never look at the
camera . I am proving her wrong! I will do it when
I choose to do it!  HA!

Proving mum wrong was FUN!!
As it is Friday  and the week is over, it means
more FUN will happen. I like that especially when it
includes belly rubs!
Now THAT is FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Julie Doing What Cats Do Best!

Julie: Yesterday was Sunday.
Mum calls that a "lazy day"
I call it a purrfect day for snoozes.

Mum can run around and clean and do laundry.
I will spend that time having a quiet nap.
We cats are smart about recharging our energies.
That way, we can see what goes on in the night
if we so choose.

Hi mum, I see you there.
You can do your thing . I will see you at suppertime.
For now...Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I love being a cat and being loved.

I hope I didn't scare you! MOL!!!!

This is probably as scary as I get.

(mum, it's NOT a yawn)

Have a FUN weekend!

Remembrance Day 2020

For the Fallen

BY LAURENCE BINYON

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,

England mourns for her dead across the sea.

Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,

Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal

Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,

There is music in the midst of desolation

And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,

Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.

They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;

They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;

They sit no more at familiar tables of home;

They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;

They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,

Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,

To the innermost heart of their own land they are known

As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,

Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;

As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,

To the end, to the end, they remain.

Julie's Visit Outside...Supervised of Course !

Julie: Saturday was a really nice day.
It was sunny and warm and mum let me out
for a while. I was good. It did not walk off the ramp.

It was fun to see what was going on.
I saw birds and squirrels at the feeders.
I did not try to chase them though.

Mum saw something !
What is hiding behind the tree branches?

Birds! A big flock of birds!
They were happy to just fly around and did not
try to land. They certainly did not try to come after me!

Birds don't really go after cats do they?
Either way, mum was close by.
Something to do with me not wandering off.
I'm not sure I am ready to try that yet.
I only want to eat some grass!
It's hard to find because our yard has lots of weed
in it and only a little grass. Darn!
At least mum will pick some grass for me!

Finally Friday!

Julie: I'm laying on the floor trying to ignore mum and the
camera. However, I realized that all of you might like to see
me! Gee!

I think mum did OK by not using the flash as no cat
wants to see glowing eyes.
We had snow on Wednesday and it is pretty well gone.
Anything remaining in the shaded places will disappear
as the temps will rise up to 15C and it will be
sunny well into next week!
Good! I like sunshine! That means porch time.
WooHoo!!! What FUN!!!

I purr that you all will have FUN!!
What will you be doing this weekend?

Halloween Visitors!

Julie: On Halloween we had some visitors to our yard.
Mum caught this deer as it was leaving.
It is at the end of the driveway.
This was about 1:30 PM

Mum also saw some birds at the feeders.
Here is a Chickadee.

This bluejay liked the seeds as well.

Around 5:30, mum saw another(same) deer!

This time there were 2 deer!
One was looking at mum, but did not leave.
Mum was inside the porch.

They had a good time in the yard.

The pictures are not good as the window mum had to use
is double paned and the outside pane is broken.

Julie is expressing her feelings about the visitors.
She is most likely jealous that they are outside
and she is not.

Never fear, she did manage to have a short outing.
That will be another post.
Because we are off the beaten track and COVID
we had a quiet Halloween.
We (at least me) are happy these critters
decided to drop by!
