Sunshine feels great!!

Julie: Oh boy! The sun was really nice this weekend!

It was pretty warm too and I loved the heat on my
black furs!
It is so nice that the days are getting longer and warmer.
That means the grass will grow too!

While I wait for things to green up more, I can watch the birds
at the feeder. It is hard to tell in this picture, but
there is a chickadee  at the feeder.
They really like the seeds.

We also get ducks. They like seeds too so mum
puts seed on the ground for them.
She will have to be sneaky to get those pictures !
I think I will relax here for a good while!

No freezing rain ,just more snow

Julie: Well, we did not get any freezing rain.
We did get more snow last night.

The birds were happy, especially since Mum
put out seeds.

Then the sun came out!
We all like the sun.

Most of all, I like getting brushed!
OK Mum, start brushing please!!!!!

Julie's Visit Outside...Supervised of Course !

Julie: Saturday was a really nice day.
It was sunny and warm and mum let me out
for a while. I was good. It did not walk off the ramp.

It was fun to see what was going on.
I saw birds and squirrels at the feeders.
I did not try to chase them though.

Mum saw something !
What is hiding behind the tree branches?

Birds! A big flock of birds!
They were happy to just fly around and did not
try to land. They certainly did not try to come after me!

Birds don't really go after cats do they?
Either way, mum was close by.
Something to do with me not wandering off.
I'm not sure I am ready to try that yet.
I only want to eat some grass!
It's hard to find because our yard has lots of weed
in it and only a little grass. Darn!
At least mum will pick some grass for me!

Freedom for Some, But Not Me!

Julie: Mum, I want to go out!

How come I can't go out?
Being busy is not much of an answer you know!

Mr Chipmink was surrounded by lots of birds!

Later in the afternoon, mum heard a noise on the deck
as she was working on the computer. This is what she saw!
A deer!!!!

This is the first time mum has seen a deer on the deck.
It did not seem to notice her taking pictures.
It was quite calm.

I still think I should be allowed out.

Monday Musings with Julie

Julie: Our weekend was pretty good.
We started off with a nice nap.

Then I decided to explore the porch and look out the window.
Critter TV was pretty good.

There were lots of critters this weekend including
birds.
(Don't worry Trout Towne Tabbies, they did not stay)
This is a Blue Jay, but he was not playing baseball.

There were a couple of crows too.

 This is a Humming Bird.

Since it was outside, I could not tell if it was humming.

Here is Earl the Squirrel.
He was asking for more seeds.
I was asking to get out and chase him!
Neither one of us got what we wanted. Dang!

This appears to be a baby squirrel.
I did not get to chase him either.

Maybe I should just go back to the cat pile.

Happy Monday with Georgia

Georgia: Happy Monday friends.
We had a really nice weekend as it was sunny.
It is even getting warmer and I am looking forward to that.

Mum was not fast enough to catch me out and about
but she did catch me relaxing in mt favourite spot.

JJ enjoyed the weekend too.
He was on the porch  but again, mum was not there
to take a picture.
She was outside a lot doing yard work with help from

You know who really enjoyed the sunny weekend.
Yup, Julie!
She was soaking up the sunbeams in the
kitchen window.

She was even able to watch Bird TV!

Georgia Sees Lots of Birds!

Georgia: I love to get wiffies from the porch windows.

I also love to look out  of the windows to see all the
critters that are out there.

Lately, I have seen lots of birds!
but we get a lot of birds.
Sadly, we do not see fish from our windows.

I saw this Blue Jay yesterday.
Can you see the rain?
It was very windy with heavy rain.
That did not stop the birds though.

The crows stopped by for the cracked corn.

This Mourning Dove was waiting for his chance
at the cracked corn.

He appears to have invited his city cousins the
Pigeons.

Earl the Squirrel was zooming around, but I did not
get his picture.
I also saw two ducks back for the Winter,
but Mom was too slow to get their pictures too.

Julie saw a Woodpecker!
She will show her to you at House Panthers.

Finally Friday with JJ

JJ here today.

I get to do the reporting today because all the other kitties
are busy or snoozing. Besides,I hardly ever get to post!

As you can see, Georgia is having a great snooze!

Last Friday we had a BIG snowstorm Mom said was a blizzard.
It was so bad, work was cancelled. Mom took these pictures
during the storm.
Even in blowing snow, this mourning dove sat in the tree!

It was then joined by some friends.

Even the smaller birds came looking for food.
During the storm,Mom would go out and clear out the birdfeeder
and stump and put out seeds. The snow quickly piled up and
the birds would dig for the seeds!

The tree branches were well covered in light, fluffy snow.
Mom said it was easy to move with her shovel.
When Monday came, it got warm and rained and took a lot
of the snow away. Then it got cold and everything froze again.

There was even some pretty frost on the windows.

Winter paints some interesting images.
Today is not as cold and tomorrow will be even warmer.
Mom says we will be having rain this weekend and
temperatures above 0 Celsius for next week.
There will  not be much sun though!

We wish you all a fun weekend !

Monday Musings with Georgia

Georgia: I am sitting on this windowsill where I can see
into the porch, and through the door to the outside. It is
a stormy, messy day! So nice to be indoors.

Mom put out some seeds and mixed birdseed for the critters
outside. They liked it too.

This little bird was getting some seeds Mom puts on the stump.

It was pretty windy and the snow was blowing around.
Later in the day it changed to freezing rain and then rain.
It will be pretty slippery and messy when it starts to freeze!
We kitties are indoors, so only Mom has to worry about
 the conditions outside ;)

We all  are spending a quiet day.
JJ is wondering where he should go for a snooze.

Tiger is working on staying hydrated.
The air gets pretty dry when Winter comes.

Treasure is working on cleaning his furs and paws.

And Julie?
Well, she is doing her Monday post at House Panthers.
Pop over to see.
