Welcome Back to the Chipmunk!

Julie: While mum was looking out of the kitchen
window she saw the chipmunk.
She was quite happy  to see it  as there are lots
of squirrels around!

We are not sure if this critter will stay around, but if he
does, there will be lots of tasty seeds and sunflower
seeds. He may have to put up with birds though.
They like to drop by for a bit.

Earl the Squirrel is pretty good at chasing
competitors away. He is pretty greedy when it comes
to foods. Not one to share.

Having said that, I must say that I don't like to share
my food either. If you want something, you need your own
bowl. MOL!
See? I will share as long as it is in another bowl.

When I am done, I can watch Critter TV.
I really have a great view and 2 wonderful
windows for my viewing pleasure.
Have a great day friends.

Oh, mum has some exciting news(for her)
that we will share on Friday!

Critters and Cat

Julie: Mum and I saw some neat critters this weekend.
First up is this Blue Jay. He was just relaxing in the tree.

On the top of the (broken) tree was this squirrel.
It is not often you see a squirrel just hanging out.
Usually they are in constant motion.

This squirrel was hanging out on top of the
bird feeder. No doubt enjoying some of
the seeds mum puts out.

I spent some time outside on the ramp.
Sometimes I just like to sit in the porch\doorway
and just look outside.

It was quite a nice day. Not too hot either.
It was cloudy most of the day, but the sun came
out around suppertime.
All in all a good weekend with mum.
Naturally it included lots of belly rubs and brushings!

Baby Squirrels !

Julie: Look at these squirrels.
They look a bit smaller than I normally see.
Mum thinks they are babies or very young.

They are still as cheeky as ever!

Even the Mourning Doves agree!
They are cheeky!

I would like to chase them but mum says NO!
She says cheeky or not, they still have sharp teeth
and claws. Not to mention that they are super fast!
Oh well, I guess I'll just watch. After, it is starting to rain.

A Good Weekend to be Outside!

Julie: We had some visitors this weekend.
This is a Downey Woodpecker

This is Earl the Squirrel.

Those toenails are really something!!!

These next pictures are of me enjoying the warmth
of the deck.

Oh yes, it feels nice and warm.

A good place for napping, but I do not nap.
I am still a bit nervous outside.

I am happy to just enjoy the sunbeams!
I think mum likes it that way.

Cats and Critters

Julie: It was a pretty good weekend !
Mum was home and I got lots of cuddles, scritches
and brushings!I love getting brushed!
It was also a weekend for lots of critters too.
Some are cool, some mum is not thrilled about. MOL!

This guy has been on the porch for the past week.
Mum is not fond of this critter and would love for
it to move outside!
So far, it it stays where it is, it will be safe...

Here we see the squirrel family.
No doubt eating seeds mum puts out.

It is another sign of Spring when the Groundhog
shows up...

and the bugs come by.

The mourning dove dropped by too.

At dusk, the deer dropped by to enjoy some grass.

I know she liked it as mum brought me some grass

earlier in the day.It was really good

Me, I enjoyed a nice afternoon nap!

Critters We Have Seen in Our Yard

These two deer  were enjoying eating grass and weeds.
Julie thought they were huge and was glad
she was inside.

This deer was in the woods across our road
at the end of the driveway.

These are baby groundhogs.
As you can see, they blend in well with
their surroundings!

Mum's sister managed to get this pawsome
shot on a baby at the fence.

Mum was not happy to see this big
fishing spider .
At least it was on the outside!!!

Mum saw this big bird on Friday as she
was putting out birdseed.

This morning, she saw some of these birds!
There were at least 4 of them  in the trees around the yard!

Mum got this picture of the birds flying over the
lake that is down the hill and  across the main road .
She was surprised at how many there were .
She got a picture of 6 but there were more!
Any idea of what kind of bird it is?
Mum thinks it might be a turkey vulture.

Since it is our blog, we need to make an appearance.

Julie did not want to pose.

Little sister is a diva at times. MOL!!
