We love a Sunny Porch !

Georgia: We had some sunshine over the weekend.

It was warm on the porch so I decided to spend

some time out there.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

This sun feels good!

I can't wait for warmer weather!

Then we can open the windows!

Today we only got up to 2C (35.6F)

Julie:  Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Oh I simply love the porch when it is sunny and warm!!!

Yes, I was enjoying a little nap.

I love my porch!

Frigid Friday!

Georgia: WE are happy that Friday is here, but

mum will be happiest when Friday is over.

Why? Because today to going to be COLD!!!!

Mum says it is windy and that brings a 

wind chill factor. What?

Mum says it ts a "feels like" temperature.

When the wind blows hard, it is colder and the temperature

feels colder than the actual air temperature.

For example, the weather predicts that at 7PM Friday night the

 temperature will be -14C(6.8F) with a wind chill factor

(feels like ) of -26C(-16.6F)

We think that is mighty cold(though not nearly as cold

as it is in Alberta,Canada! The temperature at 7PM will

be -26C (-34F) ! That is COLD!

By Sunday we are supposed to get rain!

The temperature will be 5C (15F).

No wonder we are happy to be indoor cats!

Julie is ready for the indoor temperatures and will be very

comfy and warm in her cozy bed.

Heritage Day at Mickey's Musings

Georgia: Mum is home today as it is a holiday.

It also means she will be after us for pictures!

I don't always like having my picture taken.

She wants me to look at the camera.

That tongue is sticking out at mum, not my friends!

JJ is ready for a nap.

Julie is looking out at the frozen landscape.

We had rain on Saturday and then it froze!

Some areas are icy,but mum has cleared some

pathways.

Julie did consent to posing for the camera.

Mum is home because it is Heritage Day.

Every year we honour people that have made a 

difference in Nova Scotia.

This year, we honour Maud Lewis.

Monday Musings with Georgia

Georgia: We had a pretty nice weekend.

Mum was home and it was sunny

The porch was warm too ,even though the wind outside 

was blowing and it was quite cold.

The rain on Friday washed away most of the snow.

What little bits left are now frozen icy patches.

I think I will sit here a while and enjoy the heat of the sun.

It feels good.

JJ was napping  with his head hanging down.

That boy can sleep anywhere,anyhow.

He did sit up for his picture though.

Julie also enjoyed the warmth of the porch.

She has also stopped licking the fur off of her belly.

Mum is happy about that.

She had a good snooze in the sun.

Mum says that by mid-week the temperatures will be 

warmer (+2C) and will feel warmer if the wind goes away.

For now, we are enjoying the wind free,sunny porch!

Finally Friday !

Georgia: Hi friends and welcome to Friday!

We like Friday because it starts the weekend

and mum is home on weekends!

Mum is glad as the past two days were pretty cold.

We are on the edge of that Polar Vortex so  our

cold is not nearly as cold as other places.

It should slowly warm up and then be raining 

by Tuesday.

We had a light snowfall Wednesday night

and then it froze, so our landscape is white again.

The weather indoors is wonderful as the furnace

blows nice warm air.

Today we are offering up our Friday Close Ups

Monday Musings with Georgia

Georgia: Well, Monday is here again so another week is starting.

As an indoor cat, I do not mind that it is Winter.

The climate indoors is quite cozy.

I have many comfy places to sleep and a great companion

in my big brother JJ.

Outdoors is another matter.Saturday was very cold.

On Friday it got warm during the day,then the 

temperatures dropped quickly at night.

There was a "flash freeze" and now the snow is as 

hard as ice!

Mum still went outside to put  out birdseed.

These ducks were happy.

It is not easy to tell from this picture,but the 

landscape is frozen solid.

The forecast for today(Monday)?... Rain!

Rain and frozen ground do not mix well.

Mum should have a fun time getting to work

We will think about her as we  snooze indoors. MOL!

Here is Julie doing her best(and succeeding) at not

looking at the camera!

Finally Friday !

Georgia: It's finally Friday and I am happy.

Mum said that we should see the sunshine this weekend.

She also said it will be colder.

I don't mind the cold part as I am an indoor cat and 

we have a furnace that blows lovely warm air.

JJ: I am glad it's Friday  too.I will get lots of scritches and 

brushings from mum.Even though it will be colder outside,

the porch should be pretty nice as it is enclosed.

The sun shining in warms it up.

Julie: I'm glad it's the weekend because I get more time

 on the porch! I love my porch.

Sometimes at night, mum lets me out here.

I can hear mice running and I try to catch them.

When I do, mum does not want me to bring them indoors. 

Darn!

I am ready for the weekend.

I am ready for the sunshine.

I am ready for the porch!
