Dining without the view

Julie:   Ahhhhhhh!
Nothing like having a meal by the window.
Not much of a view though as it is dark outside.
There is no snow either!
It rained all day yesterday and washed it away!
All that is left is some ice in some areas.

It will be mild until Sunday then start cooling
again and maybe some more snow.
Mum likes snow better than ice.
I prefer green grass, but I guess I'll have to
wait a few more months to see that.
Yup, life is pretty good indoors.
It is warm and cozy all the time.

OK mum, lets go do some brushies!
I love getting brushed.
It is so FUN and feels good!!!

Wild Weather Weekend!

Julie: Guess what? Saturday night we had a big
thunder and lightning show! It rained pretty hard too.
the rain lasted so long (overnight) that it took away all the
snow!

How about that?
Mum thought it was OK and I bet the birds that come
to the feeders liked it too.

I don't think anything would keep Earl the Squirrel away
from the seeds though. Critters still
have to eat...right?

When we had the big snow, I showed you a
picture of a "snow bird"  on the railing of the back deck.
It was on Friday's post.

Our pawsome friend and fabulous artist
Ann(Zoolatry )  saw it and made this
fabulous arty picture!!!
It's really cool right?!!
Mum and I really like it too!
Thank you Ann !!!!!

This week will be sun, some rain near the end of the week
 and Saturday...flurries.
It's that time of year when the weather is cooling off
and  winter is coming.
For now, we will enjoy as many snow free days as
we can get!!!

Finally Friday with Julie

Julie: It's been a strange week or weather.
Monday we had the coldest say of the Winter!
It was sunny but COLD and windy.
The rest of the week was pretty good and  cold,
but not freezing. Our snow is going and with the
warmer temps next week, there should be even more
melting!!

I am posing nicely for mum.
She has treats!

Mmmmmmmmm!
I like getting treats!

OK, I am now ready to get this weekend started!!
I am ready for FUN!
Also snuggles,scritches and brushings!

What are your plans for the weekend?

Our Yard, A Quiet Place or Wildlife

Julie: We had a pretty nice weekend. While the temps
are still cool the sun was bright!
Sitting on the windowsill, I could feel the warmth
of the sun on my panther furs.
Mmmmmmmmmm! It was nice!
it's also nice that we are now in March!!
Spring is coming!

The snow is melting and you can see more of the
brown grass. MOL!!.
Lately, this deer has been stopping by to enjoy
some of the seeds mum puts out for the birds.

Sometimes the deer will stop bt the rhododendron bush
and much some of the leaves there as well.
As the area is quite quiet, the deer feels comfortable
dining in our yard.
I enjoy watching the wildlife as does mum.

These warm sunbeams are making me sleepy.
I must go now to enjoy a nap.
See you later!

Let's Get This Weekend Started!

Georgia:

Well another week has passed and Friday is here.
WooHoo! It was an interesting week.
Monday we had a snowstorm!
This was what it looked like when mum got home.
There was about 10-15cm by morning.
Mum said it was light and fluffy so she used
a broom to sweep a path to the birdfeeder.

This is what the yard looked like last night.
A bunch of snow melted.
Today, the temps will be about 11C( ~50F) and sunny.
Saturday will be 11C and rainy so we expect the
snow will be gone! YAY!
Sun returns Sunday and it will be warm.
That means porch time!!

You saw my close up, here is one from JJ

and here is one from mighty mouth Julie.
MOL!

She is "singing" the praises of being on the porch.

Whatever your weather we purr you all have
a wonderful and FUN weekend!!!!
Tell us what your plans are.

Let's Get This Weekend Started!

Georgia: Yay It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is what mum is saying today.
She is happy the week is over and so are we.
This week we had some sun and on Wednesday we had
lots of rain  and high winds, then Thursday was sunny and cool.
Today is sunny with some wind but warmer.

We always like Friday as it means mum is home
for 2 days with us.
We are doing our Friday close ups.
We purr you like them.

Here is mine.

JJ

Julie

The big rain washed away all our snow.
All that is left is some ice that is shaded by big trees.
A it is mostly in the woods, mum is not concerned.
Neither is the little mourning dove in the bottom right corner.
She was here about 7:30 last night. Late for her.
She was eating any seeds that were left from
this morning.

While the snow is gone, the grass has not started to grow yet.
Soon...it will happen soon.
That's what mum hopes. MOL!

What is it like where you live!
Is it cold,cool,wet or warm?
Whatever your weather, we purr you all still have
FUN!

The 3 Amigos

Georgia: This past week, mum took pictures of we cats
when we were together. It does not happen often.
When mum leaves the house, she tends to turn the heat down.
We do not like that!
Therefore we like to share body heat.

It can also become bath time.
JJ loves to groom us.

Sometimes, we need our own space.

Most often is it just JJ and I.
When mum is home, Julie likes to follow her around

We had a pretty quiet week.
A lot of snow melted and now the yard is getting wet
and muddy in some places.
Sunday was really sunny and warm 13C (55F)
Today...not as warm. Only 4C.
We will have a mix of sun and cloud and maybe rain.
No snow though!
Warmer days are coming! Slowly, but coming!
And that is no April Fools Joke!!!!
(we hope)

Sunny Monday Musings with Georgia

Georgia: Mmmmmmmmmmmm!
That sun feels SO good on my furs!!

Hi friends. Yes we did have a wonderful day on
Sunday. It was sunny and pleasant. Saturday was drizzly.
Needless to say we were on the porch.

JJ and Julie enjoyed their time there as well.

JJ loves heat. In spite of his age, he still manages to get
around. Even with poor eyesight, he can still find his way around.

Earlier on Sunday, Julie was enjoying the sun from the
kitchen window.

She lay in the sun for a good while.

Then, when she got too warm, she moved to the
kitchen floor before heading to the porch.

The sun, and some rain Friday and drizzle on Saturday has
taken away a lot of our snow. Because we live in the middle
of a hill, melting snow makes for lots of running
streams of water through our yard. That makes it a bit
soggy at times. Our well never runs dry!
This week we will see lots of sunshine  and the
temps are getting better!

Earl the Squirrel was also sunbathing.
He has the remnants of an old shelf as well as
fungus  growing on this dead tree  to choose for sitting.
He was thinking some seeds would go nicely.
We hope he had some in nis nest as mum did not
put out any more.

We purr that all of you are enjoying better weather too.

Happy Good Friday with Flying Squirrels !

Georgia: Well, today is Friday and mum is home!
That is because it is Good Friday for Easter weekend.
I am happy now, but last night, mum took me to the Vet!
She said it was a check up to make sure my urinary
infection was gone. The Vet said I was purrfect!
Mt tests came back A-OK, so we came back home.
Bring on the treats mum!

JJ is in his fave place by the fireplace(that does not work).
He is waiting for some treats too.

Julie is waiting for mum to put the camera down and
run her belly. She wants belly rubs any chance she gets.
(She got her belly rubs)

Have you ever seen flying squirrels?
Earl will demonstrate.
3 weeks ago, we had snow.
Earl wanted to get to the tree where mum puts the seeds.

And he's off!

Mid flight.

Liftoff!

Approaching target.
You can see another squirrel at the bottom of the picture.

Mum took this picture this morning.
As you can see, the snow is gone!
While we may see sun tomorrow, there is  a lot of rain
in the forecast for the coming week. Darn!
At least the ducks can see the seeds now.

How is your weather?
We purr you all enjoy Easter weekend and that you all
have FUN !

Georgia's Thoughts on the Past Weekend

Georgia: IT WAS COLD!
I spent most of the weekend here on this
nice warm vent.
It was sunny but it was cold and there was a wind chill!

JJ was not impressed with the cold either.
He hunkered down on some fleecy blankies.

Mum gad to go out in the cold to go to the Vet.
She went to pick up some meds that JJ and I are taking.
On the way, she saw these geese in the lake!

There were 5 of these guys.
I cannot imagine them in the water, let alone cold water!

While it was cold this weekend, we have had mild days
and rain and lots of thick fog.
As you can see, it took away a lot of the snow.
We hope more goes away as it will be a bit warmer.

What did Julie, the Porch Queen, think of the weekend?

Pop over to House Panthers and find out!
