Spring is getting closer!

Julie: Thursday was a pretty nice day
Small bits of light snow still hang around,
but not for long The sun is getting stronger
and longer.

Last evening we enjoyed a pretty sunset.

Today we had a few flurries then the sun  took over.
We do have a little breeze, but that's all.
Looks like we may have a rainy weekend so this
is likely to be my preferred position.
I think it is a pretty good one, don't you?

If I need to nap, I know a great place tor napping!
Soft, comfy and lots of room!
The weather will be a mix of everything.
That is typical for our area in the Spring.
But I will be inside and warm and comfy.

Purrs you all enjoy a great weekend!

It's Friday and a Snow Day !

Julie: Hello friends and happy Friday, the day that
gets the weekend started!
It is my favourite day as I love to have mum
home on the weekend with me.
I get to have lots of brushings, scritches, and snuggles.
Those are things that make me happy.
I think they make mum happy too.
Once again we are expecting snow.
It could be  between 10-20cm(5-10 in).
Mum should be home before  it gets too bad :)
When mum is home, we will have FUN!!!!!
Oh, I can't wait!!!!!

On Monday, we had some mixed weather and freezing rain.
We had some icicles hanging from the back of the house
and one fell off. You can see it below.
It's about a foot long. Good think mum does not
go out back  in Winter.
There are lots of trees and the deck where
this icicle fell. Another reason to be an indoor
cat especially when there is snow.
I still have now put my paws in the snow.
I think it may be too cold, but maybe I will try
it sometime...maybe.

For now, I am content to have my FUN indoors,
away from the snow.
I wish you all a happy and FUN weekend!!!

Snow on Monday with Julie

Julie: One thing about Winter is that the air is dry.
That makes it important to drink lots of water!

We had some light fluffy snow on Friday.
On Saturday morning the sun was shining and mum
took this picture from the kitchen..

Looking out the kitchen window, 90 degrees
from the other window, this is the view.
The footprints in the snow were made by mum
last night.

Mum went out to shovel and cleared a path to the
bird feeders. The snow was light and fluffy(powder)
So it was easy to move.

Our windows are old, so we get frost in them.
The morning sun made the frost sparkle!

Mum asked if I wanted to go out in that
cold snow. Can you tell that I said NO!

I'm not quite ready to test out that snow because mum
said it was cold outdoors.
For now, I am happy to be an indoor cat!

Thankful To Be An Indoor Cat !

Julie: Guess what? We had another BIG snowstorm!
This is 48 hours after the last one.
Now, we have a lot of snow!
It was so bad, work was cancelled,as was the transit system,
and Mom was home .

This is the view when we got up this morning.

The snow piled up in these funny cones .

There were birds in the trees waiting for some seeds.
They had to wait until Mom shoveled a path to the feeder.
Can you see the snow on the roof of the feeder? Yikes!

The ducks were waiting too.

I was brave and had a sniff of the air.
Brrrrrrrr, it was cold and windy too!

I also sniffed this stuff called snow. I was not
going outside in that stuff! It was cold!
Can you see the marks in the snow?
Earl the Squirrel made them. Guess he came knocking
for Mom to hurry up with the seeds.

Some people on the internet were having fun with the crazy weather.
This is a pic from the Nova Scotia Webcam website.

Today, this is the pic we saw!
Humans are funny.

Mom is really hoping we do not have anymore storms.
As you can see, her shovel may not make it through
too much more snow.

As I said, I am glad to be an indoor kitty!

We purr all our friends are safe and warm if you are
having bad weather. We also purr for any critters
having a hard time in the tough Winter.

Monday Musings with Georgia

Georgia: I am sitting on this windowsill where I can see
into the porch, and through the door to the outside. It is
a stormy, messy day! So nice to be indoors.

Mom put out some seeds and mixed birdseed for the critters
outside. They liked it too.

This little bird was getting some seeds Mom puts on the stump.

It was pretty windy and the snow was blowing around.
Later in the day it changed to freezing rain and then rain.
It will be pretty slippery and messy when it starts to freeze!
We kitties are indoors, so only Mom has to worry about
 the conditions outside ;)

We all  are spending a quiet day.
JJ is wondering where he should go for a snooze.

Tiger is working on staying hydrated.
The air gets pretty dry when Winter comes.

Treasure is working on cleaning his furs and paws.

And Julie?
Well, she is doing her Monday post at House Panthers.
Pop over to see.
