Waiting for warm, sunny weather!

Julie: We have had a mixed weekend.
It was sunny and cloudy and there was
rain in the forecast for Sunday evening and into today.
I got to sit out for a bit, but it was kinda cool.

It is pretty hard to see but there is a duck
by the tree and she is enjoying some seed. She blends
in well with the surroundings as nothing
is out yet and things are still brown. Also, it is overcast.
Sometimes we see deer!

I often sit on Mums desk when she is at it looks good her
computer. I can give her some help when she
is doing the blog. I like to be sure it looks good.

It will be a bit rainy until mid-week so I guess
I will have to  be content to stay inside.
I hope the rain makes the grass grow.
I cannot wait to have some nice tender, juicy
blades from the lawn!
Mum and I also look forward to the temps
going up and  feeling the warm rays of the sun.
For now, we can both look out the window and watch
the ducks, chickadees and squirrels and maybe a deer or two.

Snowflurries and Ducks!

Julie: Mum, do you have that phone camera
pointed at me again?
Yes Julie, I need pictures for your blog
Oh...OK then.

Well! Guess what I just saw out the kitchen window!

Ducks!
Mum had to be sneaky to take the pic,
so it is not a good one.
They come because she puts out seeds!
Usually it is in the morning, but these two
came in the afternoon.

They come up the stairs from the river nearby.

Those silly birds must like getting exercise.
If mum let me out, I could give them exercise
by chasing them!
Naturally she won't let me out!

There is good news though. Mum says the temps
are above freezing all week so  maybe the snow will
melt! Overnight temps are still cold, but I have my paws
crossed. I am SO looking forward to seeing green grass!!
I am really looking forward to eating some nice
tender blades of sweet grass.
I do hope this white stuff goes away soon!

Oh look! Sunshine    oops, gone again!!!!!!!!

Snow, drama and Sunshine!!!

Julie: Friends, what a week!
Mum was supposed to get an oil delivery
last Friday but was unable to get any.
Our road was getting a load of rock .
The road we are on is a private road so maintenance
is not done by the city.
While we are the 1st house, the truck could not get up the road
so we did not get our oil!
We had about a quarter of a tank. The office said they would
come back on Thursday.
Mum asked if that would last and they said it should.
Mum crossed her fingers.

This is the snow we got Tuesday  !
No wonder Mum was worried!
She got out and started to shovel the snow.

The ducks came!

They enjoyed the seeds!

Mum shovelled  snow again while I was  at the Vet on
Wednesday  and it was fairly warm.
Snow started melting!
Then, the oil man showed up and we got oil!

Thursday was sunny and warm!
The ducks really enjoyed the seeds with the melting snow !

Nothing beats dining in the Winter sunshine!!!
Dining in the sunshine is such FUN!

                                                        Guess what is happening tonight?

We have a freezing rain warning!
At least we are warm and cozy!

Sunny and clear before a snowstorm!

Julie: Sunday was nice and sunny but the
weatherperson says we are getting snow.
Lots of snow!
Mum and I are not too happy about that.
We have been liking our minimal snow Winter.

The deer have been liking it too as there is still
some greenery  for them to eat.

The ducks also like a snow free zone.

Guess mum  better get her boots and snow shovel ready!
I will stay indoors where it is warm and cozy!

I see Big Birds!

Julie: Gee! I see ducks!
They must be after the seeds Mum puts out.
No matter what the weather they stop by.
This Winter has not been too bad as the
temps have not been too cold and we have not
had bad snowstorms.

I like looking at them as they are so big.
Way bigger than Chickadees!

Still I would like to go out and see them.

Mum says I cannot go out. Darn!
May as well have a bite to eat then.

Going to the Vet in the rain?!!

Julie: See this picture?
Well it was raining outside!
That did not stop the ducks from coming over though.
They really like the birdseed.

So, why am I screaming?
Because mum took me out in the rain!
She took me to the Vet!
OK, maybe it was not pouring, and I was covered,
but still!

OK! I survived the visit with the Vet.
They stole some of my blood!

Later when I got home, they called
to tell me that everything looked great.
Sheesh!!! I could have told them that!!
I demanded and got a treat for my ordeal.
Needless to say, I got one!!
Now I need a good long nap!

Birthday and Snow(ish)

Julie: On Wednesday, mum had a birthday.
She went out to lunch with her sisters.
Mum has 3 sisters. She had FUN and for dessert
she had cake!

Yesterday. we got some snow.
It was very light as it was mixed with freezing rain.
Mum said it was crunchy when she went out to fill
the birdfeeders.

The ducks really like the seeds mum puts on the
ground.
These are the boys. The girls came later.

I enjoyed a nice nap in my cozy while mum was
doing things around the house.
This is also a nice place for snoozing.
I like snoozing too. MOL!

If we are lucky we might see some sun on Sunday.
It will still be cool outside but I will be
cozy indoors!
Purrs you all have a great weekend!!

Julie Snooze and Ducks

Julie: Mum puts out seed for the birds. We live close to a
river that feeds into a lake. The ducks like the seed.
The boys...

The girls.

I was having a nice snooze and mum wanted a picture.

Hi mum.Yes you can get some pictures for the blog.
As you can see, I am doing well after my first treatment.

Ok, I'm going back to my snooze.
Happy weekend friends!

Icy Weekend

Julie: On Friday, mum was home because there was
a big ice storm.
It started out as rain and boy did it rain!
The temperature dropped way down overnight
and the water froze!
Mum was careful when she went out Saturday morning
to put out birdseed.
As you can see, Mr & Mrs Mallard liked the seeds.

Sunday, we had some sunshine and it sparkled in
the icy branches.

I enjoyed spending some time in my cat bed.

It was a pretty relaxing day as mum spent some time
reading  her book. When she finished, I got lots
of brushings. I really liked that.

All in all, it was a pretty good weekend.
How was your weekend?

Snowy Weekend!

Julie: Well, we had our snowstorm on Friday.
Mum was happy that she took a few vacation days
and was home during the storm.
We were lucky as we did not get too much snow.
It was light and fluffy. Nor did we lose power.
Mum had two siblings that lost power.
Both of them live  quite a ways from us.
They also got more snow.
They were without power for
One sister got her power back Saturday night!
Her brother(who lives farthest away) got his power
back by lunchtime on Sunday!!
He was OK as he has a generator.

The ducks did not seem to mind the snow.
They really like the seeds mum puts out.

Happy ducks!

Sunday, we got rain!
Monday is a bit better with some sunshine.
and not too cold.
Good thing as Tuesday is supposed to be really cold!
The temps will go up some for the rest of the week.

Sunshine and Ducks and Julie

Julie: Saturday was nice and sunny.
I was allowed to do outside for a while.

It felt so nice to have the sun on my furs!
I really like to sit on the deck.
Sometimes I see critters.

Mum took this picture on Sunday.
It was raining lightly off and on.
She saw these two ducks.
Maybe soon there will be a new bunch of baby ducks.

These ducklings are from June 2020.

Cats and Critters #2

Julie: I have some windows that have a wide
windowsill that I like to sit on .
I also have a yard that is friendly to other critters.
Here we see Mr and Mrs Duck and in the background
is...a groundhog!

Here he /she is in another part of the yard.
Still munching as you can see.

I am  in the windowsill that looks out on the porch.
This is the front of the little home.
The birds and other critters come to the feeders
in the front yard.

This is the kitchen view. From here I can see the ducks.
The birdfeeders can be seen from here.
Great viewing I say!
Also good for dining.

In the back we have a deck and a lot of trees.
No grassy backyard, just trees.
I would love to chase this squirrel, but mum won't
let me out! That's probably why he is so calm.

I think it would be FUN to chase him.
Sadly, mum does not agree!
Oh well, that won't stop me from having, a
FUN weekend!!!
I hope you do too!!!!!

Cats and Critters

Julie: I have some interesting views from this kitchen
window. In addition to watching for mum to come
home, I also see critters!

We get a lot of birds visiting as mum puts out seed.
These crows stopped by for some eats.
Mum says crows are cool.
I think they are big but not as big as the ducks.

This deer came around again.
Now that things are starting to get green there are
more choices and grass to nibble on.

These ducks are becoming regulars
Pretty soon they will be bring their
ducklings over here. That will be exciting as
baby ducks are cute.
Even though I am a cat I still like to look(since I am not
allowed out to chase  play with them ;)
