Vet visit and No Grass!

Julie: Well, yesterday, mum came home and  and
put me in a PTU and said we were going to the Vet.
She did not ask my permission either!
She said she wanted the Vet to check out
a tiny lump on my belly.(We will keep
you posted)
When we got home, I had my supper and mum let
me see what it was like outside.
Yup, it is a bit chilly!

However, I was curious and wanted to see outside.
Hmmmmmmmm!
I don't see those ducks or squirrels.
Mum said they all went home as it is late(7PM)

Gee, is there any grass?!

What FUN is there if there is no grass?!!
Not to mention  that it is a bit cool out here.
Mum said it will be a couple of weeks before
it gets warm and the grass grows again.
I say darn!!!!!!!

I went back indoors and mum gave me a treat.
Now that was FUN!!!!
It was warmer indoors too!
Mum says Spring comes this weekend.
I hope it brings grass!
Have a FUN weekend friends!

Finally Friday Close Ups!

Georgia: WE are ready to get this weekend started!
It was a busy week for mum and there was a
little crisis with Julie.
Fortunately, all is well and we can look
forward to a nice relaxing weekend!
WE thought we would do our close ups since
mum was pretty lazy about taking pictures ;)
Here is mine.

JJ being sidelit with the sun.

Julie is still a bit miffed at mum for taking her to the Vet.
But then, she is not a fan of posing for the camera
at the best of times.

The Groundhog dropped by to snack on some weeds.
Mum says he/she is very nervous and runs at the
slightest sound.

Julie at the Vet screaming to go home!
She was quite wobbly at breakfast and  fell when
trying to jump up on a cabinet. Then she ran away
and went under the bed.Mum took her to the Vet.
While nothing big presented itself, her
white blood cell count was low, indicating  there
may be infection or injury and her temp was up.
They gave her some fluids and Convenia.
Thursday she was feeling much better but not 100% yet.
She will get lots of cuddles this weekend .
WE think we all will!

What will you be doing this weekend?
We putt it involves lots of FUN!!

Finally Friday !

Georgia: Happy Friday friends!
What a week, Mum was happy as it was not freezing cold.
We had some warm temps Wednesday and Thursday!
Today is the warmest yet at 9C (48 F)
Mind you, we get rain with that, but as indoor cats we don't mind.
Besides, the rain starts tonight, probably when mum is coming home.
MOL!
You all know that mum is lazy about taking pics,
so we are doing our Friday close ups. Here is mine,

JJ

Julie

Julie was at the Vet for her semi-annual check up.
Mum thought she was getting,um,big.
The Vet said that she can still see the indent in  her body shape
and that is good. She should not gain any more though
Over all, she is in good shape and even her teeth
are looking good.
Julie was pleased and happy to get home.

JJ goes for his annual exam on Saturday.
We will see how this 22 year old is doing.

What will you be doing this weekend?
We purr it involves FUN!!!

Well! That didn't work.
I suffered through my checkup and it was not that bad.
They did steal some of my bloods though!

Georgia Says-Lots Going on at Our Vet's Place

Georgia: Saturday morning mum came and got me  pretty
early. She said I had to go to the Vet for 9AM.
It was my semi-annual visit.

While I am not crazy about going there, I was pretty relaxed.
The Vet Tech were impressed that I was so calm too.
I got lots of attention, especially from the one in training..
The Vet was pretty happy with me  and said I looked great.
She stole some blood to do a wellness test.
Mum should hear by Monday how I did.

At  lunchtime, mum went back to the Vet alone.
They were having their annual "Open House"
They have raffle baskets and tours of the facility.
They also had a BBQ.
Mum took a picture of the staff.
My Vet is in the front with the long pants and behind he is her hubby.
He did the BBQ.
The girl in the colourful top is the Tech on  training
experience. She was nice to me.

This is the truck the Vet uses for making house calls
to horses and some other farm  critters.

Those tools look pretty scary! I am glad  that the Vet
does not use these tools on me.
Those rasps are way to big for my mouth.
They would fit in Vidock's mouth though !

As usual, Julie got lots of porch time.

Go on over and see what she was doing .
She is posting at House Panthers.

Georgia at the Vet for Annual Visit

Georgia: Yesterday, I went to the Vet for my check up.
I was a bit nervous, but mum helped me relax.

I am not crazy about the Vet, but she was nice to me
so I did not mind too much.

She did steal some blood and some of my pee!
She said it was for some tests.
I hope I pass the tests.
Then they trimmed my claws.

Now that that is over with, I can be happy that the
weekend is here.
That means mum will be home!

I wish all of you a FUN weekend too!!

Happy Catnip Cats !

Georgia: Mum noticed that I did not eat supper and breakfast
very well. Just a few licks then I turned away.
I ended up at the Vet!
Lucky me, it was not too bad of a visit.
She said I do have a fair bit of poop inside,
but not nearly as bad as other times.
However, it is enough to put me off my food.
Mum will increase my laxative dose and add water to my food.
I also have to take a pill to help with nausea and promote
contractions in the colon.
I did not like the pill.
Mum made it better by giving me some catnip!
Oooooooooooo! This is good!!!

She gave catnip to all of us.

As you can see, we are 3 happy cats!!

We even got catnip in our furs.

Right now, we are very happy ,relaxed and stimulated cats!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Niiiiiiiiiiice!

We purr you all have a FUN weekend !
If you can score some catnip, go for it!
It is great stuff!!

Purrs for Treasure

UPDATE:
It is Tuesday evening and Treasure is still in the hospital.
His kidney numbers were elevated and so was the liver.
We decided to have Treasure stay foe another day  and give
him more fluids and an antibiotic in case of infection.
We want to see how he responds to this treatment.
As of this morning he was still depressed.
We will see what tomorrow brings for this little cat.
Thank you all so much for your love and purrs.
xoxoxoxoxo

Could you send some purrs to Treasure.

Sunday night he did not want any supper.
He had vomited a bit and just wanted to lay down.
Monday morning, he was ready for breakfast and ate.
When I came home from work, I could see that he had vomited again.
He was also very lethargic and seemed depressed.

I called my Vet(after hours line) and she agreed to meet me at the clinic.
Treasure received fluids as he was so dehydrated she could
not get a blood sample from him.
We decided that Treasure would stay at the clinic overnight
and they would do the bloodwork in the morning.
Hopefully this will tell us what is wrong.
He is 19 and on Aventi for kidney support.

I will update  you Tuesday evening.
Thank you, the mum (Nancy)

Julie's Ordeal

Georgia: Over the past little while, mum noticed
that Julie had bad breath. She was also not eating all her foods.
 She was worried.
She knows that bad breath can mean dental issues, or worse,
something internal.
She took Julie to the Vet for a check up.
Her bloodwork was great.
The vet found that one of her back molars looked inflamed.
A dental operation was scheduled for yesterday.

The vet had to remove the molars as it was loose.
The vet also found one of her incisors was loose
and it had to be removed too!
Mum was sad about that.
Because it was busy when mum went to get Julie, she was not
able to ask what caused the incisor to be loose.
She will do that later.
Julie is home and no doubt feeling better.

While we are sad she had a sore mouth, we are thankful
that it is better now and she will recover.
Mum's bank account will take longer to recover. MOL!

September(where we are) is Dental Health month.
Be sure to check your cat's teeth to be sure they are
healthy.
Bad teeth can cause lots of health problems.

We are happy that it is a long weekend.
That means an extra mum day!
We purr that whatever you do
you have a FUN weekend !

JJ Goes to the Vet

JJ: Yesterday I was not happy.
Mum came home and dragged me to the Vet for my
annual exam.
She had to dump me out of my carrier.

OK, so I did like the Vet Tech. She was nice.
To be honest, so was the Vet.

Mum even ave me some treats.

I enjoyed that part.

That's it mum, get more treats!

The Vet said I am doing very well for an older kitty.
I am 19. I am still quite active and love mu food.
I also like attention and chin scritches.

The Vet stole some of my blood.
She called mum a about 1 1/2 hours later to say
my results were pretty good.
The only thing was my Thyroid levels went up
a bit,so I will now get a whole pill instead of a half pill.
All in all, it was a pretty good visit, though I
am happy to be back home !

Now it's the weekend!
We purr you all have a FUN one!

Georgia's Not So Fun Week!

Georgia: As you can see, I was at the Vet this week.

I was there for 3 days!

I did not like it either!

I was really happy when Mum came to take me home.

She gave me scritches .

I am mighty happy to be home again!

Mum: Once again, Georgia had a bout of constipation.
Not as bad as last time, but still bad.
Looks like she will need to be segregated when I am not
at home(she and Julie tend to not get along well,
leading to litter box issues and confrontations)
and will be monitored  and given stool softeners as required.
Watching your cat's poop  can be very important

Julie is showing off her sides.

Pop over to House Panthers  to see!

Thoughts on Friday

Georgia: I am really glad it is Friday.
That means Mom will be home for two days!
I am happy now, though I was a bit upset with Mom
yesterday. She came home and took me to the Vet!
It was for my annual check up.
I passed with flying colours. Whew!
Now that that is done, I can relax and enjoy the weekend.

JJ: I like Fridays too. When mom is home, she keeps the heat
turned up to a comfy level.
When she goes to work, she turns the heat down a bit!
That is SO not nice!

Julie: I am glad it is Friday because I love to spend time
with mom. I follow her everywhere.
I really like mom!

Treasure: Georgia went to the Vet?
Oh no! You are not taking me are you mom?
I'm ready to hide!

Mom: Relax Treasure, you are not going to the Vet.
(That will me next month)

We are expecting a storm on Saturday
Not sure what it will be like, but we will be safe and warm
indoors with mom.

We purr you all have a FUN weekend!
